I love water color pencils and this set is great. Lots of vibrant colors. The reason I gave this set 4 stars was because the tin was dented on one corner when it arrived and some of the pencil points were broken. I do, however, use theses pencil all the time. I dip the pencil points in water or baby oil for smoother coloring. I prefer the baby oil since some paper will wrinkle when water is used. ... show more

These pencils lay down smooth color. I'm not a beginner and I have had much more expensive watercolor pencils in the past and I liked them. But this set is soooo much better.
