  • An Unconventional But Perfect Choice
Size: 10-foot By 13-foot
As a home gardener who has experimented with a lot of different methods, I've found that sometimes the best tool for the job isn't the one it was originally designed for. That's the case with the UWIOFF 10 x 13 FT Pond Liner. While it's marketed for ponds, it turned out to be the perfect material for building a large self-watering garden bed. My project required a liner that was durable, completely waterproof, and manageable to install in a confined space. The 20 Mil thickness of this liner was the key. It was thick enough that I wasn't worried about it getting punctured by tools or rocks, but still flexible enough to be folded and molded into the shape of the raised bed without a lot of struggle. I was able to get clean corners and edges, ensuring a tight seal for the water reservoir at the bottom of the bed. The generous 10 x 13-foot size gave me plenty of material to work with, allowing for a good overlap and a comfortable margin of error. The liner has held up perfectly. It contains the water effectively, and after an entire growing season, there are no leaks or signs of wear. The black color also helps absorb a little bit of heat, which is a bonus in my cooler climate. For anyone looking to create a large-scale self-watering system for their garden—whether it's a sub-irrigated planter or a wicking bed—I can't recommend this product enough. It's a reliable, heavy-duty solution that delivers on its promise of being completely waterproof and durable. Don't be afraid to think outside the box; this pond liner is a fantastic choice for your next garden project. ... show more

  • Works well, will mold and fold fine. Material is sturdy.
Size: 7-foot By 10-foot
First things first, the material is thin but strong, it isn't rubber so it won't mold immediately and there will be creases as it gets laid in, however, once inside, we found that adding river pebbles of varying size and weight, helped hold the material down. Then we started filing it with water, which helps the material mold itself and further sink into the soil. This is southern Florida, so the soil here is rocky and has natural lime stone, the lime stone we couldn't dig out we covered with moist soil and mud, we did this before we laid the material in. With the weight of pebbles and water, it began to mold almost immediately. Also, we did this around 7pm, sun setting afternoon, by mid-day, the heat from the sun will further aid the material to molding around the opening. The remaining material I'd recommend one not to cut, we placed decorative concrete stones around it and over the excess, used soil from the hole to fill in around and over material and then mulched it to further hold it down. What you see in photo is this. Again, it isn't soft rubber but it's pretty good for a small pond which is about 7 ft long and 5.5 wide. At its deepest it's about 2.5 ft, at its most shallow about 10 inches. I'd recommend the material, the size is more than adequate for the laguna we had in mind. We should have put another layer on top of it, but it's strong as is, we've walked around inside it and it feels sturdy at 20 mil. Comes folded up tightly. Didn't notice any tears or holes in fabric. It's been holding water for hours without issue. So far, very good. Price point couldn't be beat and the reviews are pretty good. Will update with more photos when it's finished. 👍 Update photos as pond/laguna takes shape. Liner is still holding up without issue. Liner is folded beneath stones, as you can see the stones are heavy (over 40 pounds each) and some are stacked. We did this to make sure the material stays in place, doesn't shift towards submerged center. Also, has some security for wildlife currently in pond (fish and turtles). Inside liner is holding about 100 pounds of river pebbles. Hand chosen so as not to tear or poke liner. I recommend using smooth stones and rocks. For the curious: the submerged plant is Egyptian papyrus, other plants are Water Hyacinth (native to Florida) and wild grass orchids 🙂 ... show more

  • Depends on your application
Size: 15 Ft X 20 Ft
I bought a home that had an old unused pond that I needed to get back into operation. The home was 22 years old and I am sure the Michelin liner was original. However, past owners had butchered the liner when adding a new pond skimmer and it leaked so much it was abandoned. I bought this liner as it is certainly much cheaper than the Michelin liners and I laid it on top of the old Michelin liner. This liner is thick, it is strong, but it is also fairly stiff. It was sunny and hot when I installed it as other reviews said that helped keep it more pliable. A light breeze was blowing when I laid it out and as the breeze would blow the edges over, I would have to go straighten it out again. But when I would pull the creases out it would still be stiff enough that it would leave a crease in the tarp. (See pictures) I had to be so very careful placing the rocks back on the tarp as I was paranoid that it will damage the tarp. I have filled it with water, and after 2 weeks there is no sign of leaks so far. I don't think the product description is false or deceiving, but I do believe this tarp is not for every application. After working with this liner and the Michelin liner, there is a huge difference in the material. The Michelin is basically the same material as a tire innertube. Hence the maker...Michelin. It is strong and pliable. It will last 20+ years. I am sure I will be replacing this liner again in about 5 years do to the bending I needed to do for my application. If you are doing a simple shape in your application, this tarp will do the job and probably last 10 years. In hindsight I wished I would have just forked out the $400aprox for a rubber liner so as to not do this job again in my lifetime. I hope this review helps in your decision. ... show more

  • Multifunctional Item!
Size: 10-foot By 13-foot
I used this to line my raised beds on my balcony. It went above and beyond my expectations. It is incredibly strong and heavy so I knew the quality was high. It did a great job at doubling as a raised bed liner. It took a staple gun just to make it stay in the wood and it never budged. It protected the wood of the beds as the water just rolled off of it right into the soil. It was very easy to use after measuring the length and width. Will definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to take the route I did. ... show more
