  • A workable clay for adults and children.
There is a lot to like about this clay set. The plastic case that it comes in keeps clay safe and in one place and is a great storage container. Some jewelry findings and plastic tools are included. Most important is the clay itself. They got the clay just right... not too soft and not too hard. A very workable texture for adults and children. I really found it a pleasure to work with. I will warn you, though, that the black clay made my fingers black. It also got the pasta machine dirty and got black on the next color of clay I ran through the pasta machine to condition it. I did not experience the color rubbing off with any other clay I used. It is great to have so many colors to use. I am sure I will enjoy using this set for a long time. For comparison I made one necklace with Sculpey Souffle (the one in the photographs with the green bands and Japanese designs). This clay was just as workable as the Sculpey Souffle clay. In the photographs I have included a flower necklace. The flowers are resting on a base layer underneath. That definitely was more than fifteen minutes to bake due to the thickness and size of the project. More like a half an hour. I am mentioning this because not all projects will take the same time to bake. You will have to make adjustments to the time needed given what your project demands. Something I learned is that polymer clay does not dry super hard. Successfully baked clay is still a bit flexible/bendy. If you are new to polymer clay I would definitely suggest the excellent tutorials on YouTube and books available about polymer clay. The moulds I used in the other examples are by Lisa Pavelka. In the examples that are landscape scenes I blended three colors of clay running them through the pasta machine. Then I asked: ok, what does this suggest that it is? I decided that one was a landscape that would like a tree, and the other was asking for ocean waves. Acrylic paint works with polymer clay, and that is the paint I used in these examples. While I did not build sculptures, that is something you can also do with this clay. Finally, I would like to mention a couple of things that will make your polymer clay journey easier if you are new to it. First, I would suggest in investing in a cheap toaster oven that you dedicate to polymer clay projects. I got one for around forty dollars on Amazon. There are sites online that will tell you it safe to bake polymer clay in the oven you cook dinners for your family in.... but that is really questionable. Polymer clay, if you happen to burn it, releases toxic fumes. Your polymer clay projects may also include other things you add to the clay that may give off toxic fumes when baked. So to be conservative, and safe, I would recommend having a toaster oven dedicated to polymer clay projects. It was also suggested to me to get an oven thermometer. Ovens are notorious for not really achieving the temperature you set them at, and baking your clay at the wrong temperature can lead to disappointment. Oven thermometers are cheap, and will let you know when you have reached the appropriate baking temperature. Finally, while you do not absolutely have to have it, getting a pasta machine to condition your clay will make your clay time much easier and more enjoyable. The pasta machine will take the air bubbles out of your clay and provide perfectly even sheets of clay at multiple thicknesses you can set. I would recommend the pasta machine Sculpey makes specifically for polymer clay. It works perfectly. If you decide to get one be careful where you buy it. I have seen price differences of around ten dollars. I really hope you enjoy your polymer clay journey. This is a nice set to begin it or continue it with. ... show more

  • Super-Size Clay Kit
Super Package Polymer Clay I love this stacked clay kit. The kit contains 82 colors of clay, tools for shaping the clay, a gem mold, and a bag of jewelry findings. There are four clear boxes that stack on top of each other and snap together to create one large kit with a carrying handle. Each layer contains twenty-one packages of different colored clay. It also includes an instruction book. I really like having all the clay and tools in one handy storing container. The clear boxes allow you to see what is inside before you unsnap the boxes. ... show more

  • Kinda tough
I got a different brand and it was easy to work with sometimes seems a little to moist where it would stick to things to easily. But this one kinda crumbled and you have to play with it for a few minutes to work it into a consistency that is able to be worked with. I got liquid polymer clay tho and that helped a lot ... show more

  • Excellent polymer clay set for beginners!
This polymer clay set has everything you need to experience as a beginner the art. It has been said that imagination is more important than knowledge, so you may need lots of that! While this set has 82 colors, the amount of total clay is just enough for quite some little projects! It has lots of tools for sculpting, cutting, form, etc. However, you can also make molds with even the same clay, or hot glue sticks (you will need the items you would like to copy and make). There are many videos online about how to work with this clay, create things and how to "cook" it. I prefer baking in an oven. There are so many techniques videos out there that you do not need to be an expert! I even found our that you can soften the clay using a hair dryer! Just made some earings ar 255F for 30 minutes, did not burn. ... show more
