Now that Christmas is over, I can give a complete review of this calendar. If your girl likes Polly Pocket, she will LOVE this. I got it for my 8 year old daughter. Not only did she enjoy the surprises every day, but after the countdown is over, you can remove the calendar part and there are plastic shelves to make the dollhouse floors and rooms. It's a legit playhouse made of plastic and not cardboard. Then, you use all the surprises gathered over the past few weeks to play in the house. My daughter played with it for hours on Christmas. Got this at a good black Friday price. I was going to make little envelopes for my daughter to open so we could use the house as a display through the month but discovered you can slide out the cardboard part. The only problem is that it's not completely sealed on all sides so you can peek at some of the days. It hasn't bothered her and she's loving opening it. A win on many levels! My favorite that advent calendar itself is a sturdy Polly dollhouse. All your other Polly friends can join the fun. It’s fun and festive. My 6 year old loved this for Christmas. Much smaller then I was expecting though, so I would definitely not recommend for young kids or kids that could choke on the pieces. It was fun to open the whole house at the end and assemble it as a bonus
