House is smaller than expected, but keep in mind that it is for these tiny, micro dolls, so it is an okay size for them! I am writing to tell people that it is okay to use this as a Polly dollhouse and not just as an advent calendar. While it is winter themed, the house can still be used and displayed year-round as the dolls can visit this winter theme (they live where it is cold!) and then move on to a different Polly destination that you might have at your house: the mall? the bakery? It is fun to set up a little land for them. I prefer this house over the other houses because of its flat front, open layout, which makes it easy to get the tiny pieces in and out of. I highly recommend this for Polly friends as not just an advent calendar but also as a wonderful toy. If you are a Polly fan, then you won't regret this. I bought this for my daughter and when it arrived we discovered it has 25 doors instead of 24 which delighted my daughter as she was able to open the first door right away. (We do the 1st through 24th method since you get a bunch of gifts on the 25th). So far every door she’s opened has an absolutely adorable Polly pocket or accessory for the house in it. She said, she can’t wait until they are all open and she can decorate and play with the doll house. It’s a great deal for the price also, arrived quickly and appears well made. Anybody who is writing a bad review for this product either doesn't understand what an Advent calendar is or didn't open the box. This requires no assembly. I'm not sure why any review would say that it does. You aren't supposed to take it apart and put the items in the house. That would entirely defeat the purpose of it being an Advent calendar. As an Advent calendar, the child gets a new present each day. You open one door from December 1st through December 24th to count down the days until Christmas and get a new toy every day. Your child can play with the Polly Pocket house and all 24 other tiny Polly Pocket toys they got on Christmas day. This is a great Advent calendar. 5 stars. ... show more

I was a bit nervous about this advent calendar, because of reviews that said you can’t have the house until the very end. I gently pulled out the calendar part, taped the cardboard back on, and my daughter has been enjoying the house the whole time. Ideally, they would fix this, but it really hasn’t been that big of a deal for us. I got this instead of a traditional advent calendar for the 3.5 year old. She really loved opening up each day and I loved that afterwards you had the house that all the pieces could be used in. The one thing that I wish was better about it was that you could easily pull out the cardboard and see what each day was. Which is what we did because we wanted her to play with the house. My only suggestion would be that they make it without a clear plastic backing to maintain the surprises so kids aren't starting to go out of order just to get to the toy they want. ... show more
