  • Ease of Use and Bluetooth capabilities
Unit has worked flawlessly since arriving a month ago. Unit climbs the walls of my inground fiberglas pool with no difficulty. It cleans the pool very well, and cleaning the unit is a breeze. The only issue that I am experiencing is due to the size of my steps going into the pool. The device is a bit large and unable to fit on the steps, so it has difficulty with them. Other than this, it does a great job. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a pool cleaner with all the bells and whistles. ... show more

  • Corvette of Pool Bots
I bought this unit to replace an Aquabot Turbo T which sucked up dirt, leaves, sediment - anything on the pool floor better than any other unit I'd tried. It also sucked in other ways. It was a maintenance nightmare. The VRX cleans as well or better, it's beautifully engineered, easy to use and a pleasure to look at. It comes when called, the filter unit is large, equal to or bigger that the T. It's the only bot I've seen that actually cleans to the waterline. They all claim to but the Turbo T only got close when the filter bag was empty and the Dolphin I have never really tried. It's expensive but reasonably priced when compared to the abilities of the competition. The real test however is down the line. Will it hold up? If I can get 5 years out of the VRX without substantial maintenance, then it will have been worth every penny. The only negative that I've observed is a slightly finicky wifi connection. At the moment it fails to update firmware for some reason - it's 10' from the hub. That's minor in the scheme of things, and hopefully will be sorted out soon. ... show more

  • Does not clean walls thoroughly
I have had the Polaris for two months and have used it every day only to find out that it does not work half as well as they mayTronics dolphin, pool cleaner. It does clean up debris in the pool however, the big miss here is that it does not scrub the walls to get the pool clean. I have had to use my old dolphin robot to get the pool clean again. I purchased the Polaris because of the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capability, and I thought it would work just as good as my old one. This pool season using the Polaris caused a pink fungus because it was not cleaning daily as it should. I never had any issues with the mayTronics cleaner causing any fungus. Looks like I wasted over $1k on this one. If you are searching for a Pool robot, I recommend the mayTronics pool cleaners for overall cleaning capability. ... show more

  • Best Pool Cleaner Ever
I have owned lots of pool cleaners over the years, of all different types. This is the 2nd robotic cleaner that I’ve owned that plugs into electrical power instead of using suction from the pool motor. I love everything about this cleaner except for one thing which I will get into later. Since I started using this cleaner, my pool is always spotless. Programming/Scheduling: This Polaris is super easy set up a daily schedule of cleaning. For each day of the week, you can select to clean the floor only, the floor, walls, and waterline, or the water line only. NOTE: The schedule setting to clean the floor, walls, and waterline, is labeled “floor and walls”, but if you read the description you will see that the waterline is also included. You can also adjust the cleaning intensity for each day of the week. There is also a schedule setting called Smart Cycle that calculates the optimal cleaning time based on the size and shape of your pool. Debris basket: The debris basket is large enough to where in only need to empty it about once per week and I have an unscreened pool with 2 large oaks trees nearby. the basket is super easy to remove, clean, and put back. Ease of Removal: This cleaner has a feature called “Lift System”. You use the remote control app to turn the cleaner so it’s facing directly for a flat area of the pool wall. Then you use the remote to drive the cleaner to the wall, and up the wall until you can easily reach down and grab the large handle on the cleaner to safely lift it out of the pool. You should never use the electrical cord to pull the cleaner out of the pool. I rarely take the cleaner out of my pool. I just leave it in so it can clean every day of the week oh the schedule I have programmed. The only time I remove it is when we are going swimming. Only downside: the only downside to this cleaner also comes with an upside. The fact that’s it’s not cordless is a downside because when using the cleaner you always have an unsightly cord draped across your pool deck into the pool. However the upside of having a corded cleaner is that you never need to take it out to recharge. I could have purchased a cordless cleaner but I opted for a corded cleaner I would never have to recharge. Not having to recharge is more important to me than not having a cord draped across my pool deck. If they ever develop a cordless robotic cleaner that just as effective as this one that can drive out of the pool and dock itself to recharge than I will probably make the switch. Because my pool is unscreened and we have several large oak trees nearby, I need my cleaner running daily and I’m way too busy to have to manually remove a cleaner every day to recharge it and then remember to put it back in the pool every morning before work. If they can develop a cordless cleaner that recharges via solar and can drive itself out of the pool to recharge or drive into a cradle that’s mounts at the waterline, I would definitely give it a shot. Only missing feature: the only missing feature that I can think of besides being cordless is robotic skimming. It would be absolutely amazing if this cleaner could clean the floor, walls, and waterline, as well as skimming the surface. Since I started using this cleaner, my pool floor and walls are always spotless, but I still have to use a net to manually skim the surface. I would love to no longer have to skim my pool. ... show more

  • Polaris vrx iq
This is our second day with the robot cleaner so I will rate it again down the line. So far we are extremely pleased with the unit, it has done a thorough job throughout the entire pool, very please on how it cleaned the walls that were very dirty because I'm disabled and its very difficult to brush them, we do have a Hammerhead professional vacuum that is very powerful but it's getting difficult for us to use that one, today the second day we are trying out the super fine filter we bought separate because it the filter that comes with it doesn't remove the fine silt that it leaves behind, we'll see how that works, it is extremely heavy for us old folks to pull it out of the pool so I have a pole and hook that helps a lot on the extraction, so so far so good I will come back like I said and rate it again in a few months. ... show more

  • Bad Quality, not fully serviceable
Had 2 motor blocks failed on me in less than 2 years. This product is not made to last. The main issue with it is the Motor block. With time, it will leak and the electronics that are housed inside will get destroyed. The motor block is not serviceable, but it should be. User should be able to buy service gaskets and control electronics.. The motor block will cost you over $600 ... show more
