  • Great automatic pool vac/time saver
Pattern Name: Robotic Pool Cleaner
After putting off an automatic pool vac for a few years, this was a purchase I am happy I finally made. Considered getting the float-around style, but those need a booster pump. Considered getting a suction-side model, but reviews are mixed, and seem to have a lot of maintenance and not very good cleaning coverage, especially sides or angled bottom. Then, saw this and decided it looked best, for several reasons: simplicity, doesn’t need any additional pumps, and reviews were mostly good. Pool: we have an in-ground, vinyl-lined, kidney shaped pool with 45-degree angled sides to the bottom in the deep end, fiberglass steps in shallow. Performance so far: one word, AMAZING. Very easy setup, and very easy to get running every time (1-2 minutes to get started). The unit is electric powered, but the cable is super-kink resistant (very high grade silicone cord…they did not cheap out), floats, and plugs into the control unit, which plugs into standard 110V. The unit sinks, you press start, and walk away. Or stay for the show, and the confused beagles barking at it…it’s all good! Auto-shut off, and easily pulls back to surface and out of the pool after about an hour. It drives itself around, has hit all of the pool surfaces except steps and behind ladder. It really climbs the walls to the surface, scrubs a few seconds, then goes back under for more. Once done, pulling the filter basket out is rapid and easy, and comes clean with a hose to backwash it. Basket is a pretty fine mesh - better than cheesecloth we use in the kitchen. Catches most everything debris-wise, even got the black-bird droppings they deposit in our pool. Not sure what they have against me, but this thing even gets that stuff. Only thing it didn’t get was a phosphate-removal treatment, but that “jelly-stuff” needs vacuum to waste, this would not be expected to clean it. Other than my first spring vacuum to waste, I no longer expect to have to vacuum throughout the season - this is doing the job, and way, way easier. Really wish I had bought it sooner…I will never get that time back. If you are on the fence, hope this helps push you over. Sorry for draining your wallet, but it will pay for itself in time not spent walking around your pool with your pole in your hands…cheers! ... show more

  • Great pool vac..such a good price I got 2 of them!
Pattern Name: Robotic Pool Cleaner
Okay first of all I am a HUGE fan of Amazon Warehouse! 9 out 10 times I will order something from Warehouse even acceptable condition can be like new! Which was the case with this purchase, I actually bought not 1 but 2 of them for $130 each! They may have been refurbished I am not sure but they literally where brand spankin new! As a pool robot typically will only last 5 years I figured for this price I would have it covered for 10 years for less than $300!! Now on to the Polaris NEO Robotic Pool Cleaner review! Its a very well designed machine and feels very heavy duty indeed! In 12 years I have owned a Dolphin Nautilus which after some part replacements probably lasted 5 years, this was purchased used for 200 so got some good mileage for sure..I then made mistake of buying a cheaply made Aiper robot, it actually worked ok when it actually worked but the drive belts would only last 2 weeks! At first the vendor provided a couple belts, then they stopped and then I had to buy them from amazon when you could even get them in stock...finally they just stopped selling them and I had enough....the good news is after paying $600 for it, I think I had it for maybe 3 months, Amazon gave me a full refund but it was still painful to deal with... Anyways! This Neo seems so much better built, I really like the easy to use debris container, one button and it pops out to empty! It seems to get A LOT of debris small and large the only downside to this design is the container is a bit on the small size...so if your cleaning the pool after say the winter months or in the fall with lots of leaves etc prepare to empty it several times. It seems to cover the pool fairly well, theres not much to it to be honest, couple settings to set the pool floor material such as smooth/liner seems kinda gimmicky and don't see any difference an any of the settings. As far as well climing it does well, but it does not seem to go all the way up to the water line it closes but with past robots they seem to go a few inches higher..no big deal just an observation. So I guess that the ghist of the review, works well and feel if you can find this for 500-600 it would be well worth it over an Aiper or other cheap knock off just to have the Polaris brand and build quality and hopefully better product support. ... show more

  • Good Quality and easy set up.
Pattern Name: Robotic Pool Cleaner
Good quality pool cleaner and easy to use and clean after use. One important factor to be mindful of is the height of your pool drains.. My pool has 2 drains on the bottom (apx. 8. feet deep) and are a few inches above the pool surface. This robot loves the drains and often gets 'stuck' on them and will not move. I have to constantly monitor to see if it's stuck and give a gentle nudge with the cord to move off of the drain. As it's randomly working, it's random when it adheres to one of the drains so must keep some attention to this matter and move it off when it gets stuck.... ... show more
