I used these to replace the plastic screws originally installed to secure my vinyl shutters. I don’t know why those l plastic screws were used but if you are installing shutters for the first time or re-securing, like I had to, you must use these long metal screws. Works well but was missing some from the package. With that in mind the package was busted when I got it. Tried to contact seller, wanted photos but email wouldn't let me send. I purchased these to reattach some very expensive shutters that use the plastic anchors that break. These work great and with the dark gray of my shutters I like the black accent. The only problem is some of the caps don't stay on. The seller does provide extras but I'm not crazy about removing a screw and replacing several times. I most likely will glue them shut as if needed the caps would be easy to remove. ... show more

I was a bit skeptical at first but post installation it's hard to make out that you have a steel screw with cap. It's easy to install as well, just ensure you use masonary drill bits if you need to drill into brick, stone or concrete.
