One of the best random purchases I made on Amazon! I saw someone using one of these on another website, but it ran almost $60 and didn't work with a phone case- yikes. I thought it would be fun to have one of these with me when I don't want to carry my normal camera around. I didn't have high expectations, but I was excited to see how it would work. This little lens is amazing!! I bring it EVERYWHERE with me. To the park, on walks, to work- it's always in my purse. A few of my friends poked fun at me and wondered who would buy a lens for their phone...until they tried it. They're all looking into getting them now. What's great is that these will work for any phone. So if you're new to the whole "lens for your phone" thing and want to take some cool macro shots when you don't want to carry your real camera around (or you just don't want to spend money on a camera), this thing is definitely for you. Pocket Lens is also really into interacting with their customers on Instagram, which is great! You can see what other people are taking photos of before you buy it, which is partially what sold me. I've included some pictures to show how great this little thing is. Do I think this can replace professional cameras and lenses? I've been having a lot of fun with this lens set. I wanted it primarily for the macro lens, to try to take pictures of my family's eyes. Weird, I know, but there it is. Setting up the lens was easy enough. The lens snapped into the clip easily, and the lenses are easy to separate macro from wide angle. Just take off the lens cap, twist the wide angle lens off and put it in the little pouch that comes with the set, and the macro is ready to go. They both work very well for what I wanted. (I need to learn how to diffuse light better, but that's just me not knowing what I'm doing. I'm working on it!) I had trouble getting my camera to focus while using the macro at first, but the company sent me an email with links to a video that helped a bunch. (Top notch customer service, by the way.) Once I figured out how close/far to hold the camera from the subject to use the macro lens, I was good to go. The wide angle works very good, too. It's easy enough to use that I turned my 10 year old loose with it. I handed him my phone and he took a ton of photos of his toy cars. Great fun. I was really excited to receive this product. I had recently gotten into taking photos on my phone, and wanted everything/anything I could get my hands on to enhance my pictures. I found that when I used this Lens it wasn't really what I was looking for when I wanted selfies/close up pictures. But when I would go out to the beach, or the Golden Gate Bridge/ San Fransisco and take scenery pictures it truly added something unique to each picture I took. I do have to say, that it was a little frustrating having to take off my phone case to use this product. I have had the product for nearly a year now, and although I don't use it as much as I want. I am neither ecstatic about the product nor am i upset. Keep in mind, I have no photography background or training, so I'm sure someone with a little bit of training could probably produce AMAZING quality pictures. ... show more

Traditional clip on macro lenses don't fit my moto g5+, but this odd little contraption worked great, right out of the box. It shipped and arrived quickly and it was packed well. There was a quick-start sheet that helped me fit all the parts together, and a link to a youtube video for more instructions (I didn't need it). For all of that alone, it is well worth the price. However, there are some shortcomings. First, the quality of the lens is okay. You definitely get strong magnification, up close. With the optical zoom on my phone, it's pretty amazing. However, it was a bit blurry at the edges and hard to keep in focus by hand. A tripod would certainly help. I have one and I'll try it later. The lens is manufactured with a small lip to slip into a channel on the clip. The clip is probably not compatible with other lenses that have threaded fittings. The other macro lens that I have does not fit in the clip. The clip itself is about as sturdy as a plastic fork. I can foresee a day when I break it in half trying to fit on my phone. Don't let it get cold, hot or leave it in the sun. The plastic clip has a little rubber nub that rests on the face of your phone. And when the clip is off your phone that rubber nub rests against the back of the lens itself. This is not great, as the rubber collects bits of dust and fibers readily. There is a lens cover, but that only protects the front of the lens. I will probably make a protective sleeve to keep the front and back from getting dusty when I'm storing it. Here are some photos I took immediately after assembling the clip. 1) no zoom, no lens, indoors, overhead light, no flash, no filter, or editing. About 4" from subject. 2) no zoom, macro lens, indoors, overhead light, no flash, no filter, or editing. Less than 1" from subject. 3) 2x optical zoom, macro lens, indoors, overhead light, no flash, no filter, or editing. Less than 1" from subject. 4) 3x optical zoom, macro lens, indoors, overhead light, no flash, no filter, or editing.
