I frankly don't know how they made this for $20. There is A LOT of aluminum in this thing. It's very ridged, which is good for tripod. The base is small so it's not super sturdy but I knew that getting into this. This problem is easily remedied with the included Bluetooth remote camera button. It has infinite adjust-ability, I'm absolutely thrilled with my $20. I bought it to start filming a silly internet show and I'm considering buying 2 or 3 more just for an extra camera and some microphone stands. It's heavy, comes with a carrying case, has a bluetooth camera button to pair with your phone or camera. Material alone, there is a significant amount of aluminum in this thing. There are no plastic hinges. The brackets are plastic but also very strong and ridged. Yeah, there are other stands out there but I cannot say enough good things about this stand for $20. I've seen $50-60 stands that were much lower quality than this. No, this will not hold your DLSR, but if you are looking for a mic stand or something cheap to hold a phone this is your guy. ... show more

Was working very well, exactly as I needed, until about 3 4 months after purchase. Out of nowhere, the bottom piece stopped screwing in. Similar to another person in the reviews. I have no way of contacting the seller, so hopefully seller sees this and contacts me. Up to that point it was great but the bottom piece broke and now it won't stand at all, even if I tape the legs or anything. Annoyed. EDIT: 5 star review, as they refunded me full after few months. This is a very nice tripod and has some great features. I really like the ease of adjustability and all the height options. It's fairly light weight, but sturdy. I only gave 4 stars because the top tilt mount is crooked when screwed down completely making it so that my phone tilts at an angle instead of directly up and down. I can fix this by adjusting the angle of the phone mount, but it's awkward and has to be continually tweaked to get it just right. I going to try to put a small spacer or washer in there to see if I can fix it. Otherwise this is a great product and I'd recommend it. ... show more

However, it’s also a bit flimsy if your phone has a case on it, it might not sit securely and could fall out. Mine actually broke after just a couple of days, which was disappointing.
