This is a good working pump for a 55 gallon drum. Quick and easy to assemble. It's super lightweight and easy to transfer it from one barrel to another. Good length and drains a barrel almost completely. Simple to use. You just install it in the barrel and crank the handle. The crank moves with little effort and doesn't leak. I like the handle on the crank. It is comfortable to grip and spin the crank with. This also has a filter on the end and filters the oil being pumped through it. The included hose is really convenient as well! It works great for pumping oil into five gallon buckets or smaller containers. So far this has been a nice pump but because it's so lightweight it seems less durable than other pumps. I would rate it somewhere in the middle of cheaply made and high quality. I'm skeptical of how long it will work efficiently without leaking or coming apart. Time will tell.....

This isn't necessarily well built, but it's not cheap junk either. If you have a need to move oily substances from drums to somewhere else on the scale of a private property owner, this will do you very well. I don't have confidence in this pump holding up to any sort of commercial use, if this gets beaten up it will likely lose functionality or break altogether. On the flip side, the pump is very easy to operate, and it is very easy to setup due to how light it is. Seems a little better quality than the plastic variety, and not quite as unwieldy as the cast iron pumps.

I ordered this pump as a replacement for my old cast iron pump that is leaking at the crank pump. It does feel very light as they advertise, but it also feels much less substantial. The overall quality is good but I wouldn't use it commercially as I'm not sure how it will hold up with heavy use. For my needs it is sufficient though. The only problem I noticed is that it came with aluminum chips left inside the tubes from cutting and machining it. The tubes had quite a bit of it and I was not able to blow them out with the blower as they completely stuck in there. You will have to check and use some cloth and a rod to clean it out if you get them inside your tubes too. You would not want these aluminum chips and metal dust inside your engine oil or gas that's for sure.

This was easy to assemble and easy to use. I used it on a drum of oil, and it set up fine, but I did think it didn't come out as easy or as fast as I expected it to. I'm not sure how long lasting or durable this will be, only time can answer that. those 2 things plus the price tag made this a 4 out of 5 stars for me.

I use this pump on a 55 gallon drum of 5w20 engine oil. It is a very efficient pump and does not leak. It fits just how expected, and drains as much oil from the drum as possible. The cranking motion of the pump is smooth.
