We learned this game from my parents. It was so easy to learn and so fun that we actually bought our own copy before the game was over. Once the game came, my husband and I enjoyed playing game after game with just the two of us. We enjoyed it so much, that we didn't even put it back in its box -- just left it loose on top of our scoring notebook. We learned the hard way that our 6 month standard poodle ALSO enjoyed the game, hahaha. We came downstairs to find half the deck destroyed and we were so sad. Fun game. First round is 3 cards, draw, discard. Your goal is a run of 3 of same suit or 3 of a kind, don't forget the 3's will be wild this round. Next round, 4 cards, run or set of 4 and the 4's are wild. When you get to 6 to 13 cards, you can have runs of 3 or more and or sets of 3 or more . There are jokers to use as you like and also, be sure to count your cards, if you have 4 then the 4's are wild, 8's? 8's are wild, K's? the kings are wild. Grandkids came to visit us at the beach, after a long day, I pulled out crowns my grandson who is 8 years old and his sister 10 years old caught onto this card game quickly and Loved playing crowns. Also us adults love this card game.

This is our family card. This is the 12th deck we bought. The 11th one was getting a bit worn. So we bought another deck. As soon as we opened the package we noticed that the usual plastic packaging was now missing and the shrink wrap replaced with a paper band. That was ALL FINE but when we dealt out the cards... they didn't seem to be plastic coated like all the previous decks. The cards felt cheezy and didn't shuffle well. We ended up using the old tworn deck as even worn they were superior to the new cheaper deck. My advice is go to a retail store and try to find the older version. This is what companies in general are doing to NOT raise the price. Watering down the product. Very disappointing.... do NOT order this product. ... show more

A group of friends went on a weekend getaway and we had so much fun playing this game. It makes you think and plan, but isn't too hard to play. For Christmas gifts, (not knowing) we gifted each other this Five Crowns game to 3 of the 4 of us who were on the weekend getaway!

While recently on a Cruise the wife and I would often sit in the empty end of the buffet area and play Monopoly Deal against each other. I quickly became very tired and annoyed at my "lucky" wife beating me all of the time. One evening a few folks invited us over to their nearby table to learn this great game. Learning to play was so simple that even with no awareness of strategy, I was the Winner of the very first game that I played among 6 players.
