    • WAR HORSE OF A CASE!
I have been around the world countless times with this case. In the days before TSA and weight restrictions it weighed upwards of 35kg+. My first one has gone almost 20 years now before the rolling wheels needed to be replaced...the urethane outer wheel (old design) shed off it's inner layer running through the Shinkansen Station in Kumamoto Japan about a month ago. My new wheels just showed up ($32 for the pair direct from Platt)... On Amazon now to buy a second case and mirror my setup. I absolutely love this case, and have banged it around in and out of planes, trains, trucks, cars, on the back of motorcycles, in Ox Carts, and plain old dragged it through the mud in cyclones and it hasn't missed a beat. Still locks up...but Platt doesn't offer a TSA Compliant Retrofit Lock so I'll keep my old reliable warhorse of a box here in Southeast Asia, and I'm buying a second to calm the idiots in the TSA about my heavy black box of mechanic's tools. This box never fails to impress, and oftentimes when I open it at some jungle work location I feel like Felix the Cat opening his magic black bag of trix! In fact, and a former job someone named it "Tony's Felix Box" and that's how I've referred to it ever since. I can't say enough good things about this case. If there was one thing I'd change is custom pallets. The weight restrictions now limit it to 23kg and 30kg max and I end up needing a second supplementary box so the new generation weaklings in the airports can sling it onto the belt. Having lighter pallets, with better custom tool configurations that I could order with the case and not separately would be great. Other than that, I know what I got and I know what I'm getting. I'm buying the second to ADD to what I have, this is NOT a replacement!!! ... show more
