  • Easy to Install

Worked perfectly to cover the 6” cutout we had to make in the ceiling for wiring.

  • Worked great, but did not paint well.
Number of Items: 1
Fit perfect for a 6x6 hole that I needed to cover in the drywall. I did try to paint it to match the wall color, but it did not take the paint well. Maybe if you lightly sand it first it may take the paint better.

  • Good access panel. Easy to install and stays in place. Paintable and hides gaps well.
Number of Items: 1
Someone cut drywall panels out of my closet and screwed them back in leaving some pretty unsightly gaps around the edges. I got this plastic access panel to cover the showerhead access and mixer valve openings. Installation was super easy — no tools required thanks to the spring click technology. The panel snaps in firmly and stays in place without any wobbling or falling out. I also really like that the panels are paintable. I was able to paint mine to match the surrounding wall perfectly which made the repair look much cleaner and more finished. The plastic feels sturdy enough to hold up well over time. It does a great job hiding the gaps and rough edges from the drywall cutouts. Overall, this was a simple and effective solution that improved the look of the area a lot. I’m very happy with how well it works and would definitely order again if I need more access panels. ... show more

  • Great little access panel
Number of Items: 1
Wall plate feels well made and the spring is sufficient to hold it in place. Will have to fix the hole behind my shower before installing this access panel but I feel like it will fit and work well for easy access to the water valves. It is textured and looks like it will hold paint nicely so not concerned about it not working for me. It is definitely worth the price for easy access instead of the sheetrock plug that was always falling out before. ... show more

  • Great Cover for a Kitty Bolt Hole
Number of Items: 1
Most people get this kind of thing to cover up plumbing or electrical access. I got this to cover up cat access. We've got a super sky kitty who likes to bolt for cover anytime someone new comes over. She settled on my office closet as her safe space shortly after we moved in, so I cut a hole in the drywall to make it easy (and save my closet door from scratch marks). The hole was under some built-in shelves, so it was easy for me to forget it was there - that is, until we decided to move to a different house a few weeks ago. I figured the new residents might not appreciate a hole in the wall, so this seemed like a good fix. It's PERFECT. Even though I 100% didn't measure a perfect 6x6 hole when I cut the thing to begin with (it was slightly bigger in places, and even bigger-er in others - more like a weird trapezoid), this slides in and attaches no problem. It's so nondescript that even if someone gives it a second glance, they'll just assume it's for some totally normal mechanical reason and not because we went to weird lengths for our neurotic cat. ... show more

  • Convenient access panel for infrequent access.
Number of Items: 1
This is a very interesting design of access panel. Not having a "border" makes it streamlined and allows you full access to the hole in the drywall when removed. Due to the design, though, you need to be REALLY careful to cut the hole to the exact size. Also, taking the panel off and then replacing it frequently will eventually cause the drywall to crumble, making it looser. I decided to run a thin border of mudded drywall tape to the exposed drywall edges to prevent the drywall from crumbling over time. This added complexity to my project, but resulted in a really nice finished hole that will stand up to repeated removal and installations of the panel. ... show more

  • Works but wouldn't recommend for frequent use/painting
Number of Items: 1
I have used these sorts of panels before but after cutting the same drywall spot twice due to issues I figured I would add a few more. This one is pretty simplistic which is good in terms of ease of install (as there really isn't an install). It is important to cut the hole exactly to size, these have a raised lip on the back and as these just have two press hinges holding in place if that hole isn't the right size its going to slide some with any pressure. After using this though I prefer the hinge style/border panels. Those you are glue/screwing the border around the hole and then have a normal door. This allows for much faster access without having to fidget to get the door back on/in when done (or risk damaging the drywall there). It is also less exacting being attached rather than just sitting in the hole. These can technically be painted, but I don't think they are really doing anything to help that over normal plastic. It is a flat smooth surface vs prior painted ones had texture to them. The texture makes them easier to paint, here you will either want plastic primer first or will need to do a few thin coats to get the paint to start to stick, also for a smooth surface like this a foam roller is your best bet. The other thing the texture on some others helps with is wall blend. The panel being perfectly smooth is going to stand out on nearly any wall. I quickly tried some wall texture but it didn't stick to the surface well. Potentially if you primed first then textured it might work, although I haven't ever done that combination before. Overall this would be better suited for a temporary cover than permanent. Others may take an extra 10 minutes to install but provide a better experience any time you go to actually use them. ... show more
