Top Amazon Reviews

  • Exactly what I was looking for... but may not be everyone's cup of tea.
Normally I wouldn't buy something with the reviews this item has, but I read through many of the reviews and some of the things that others described as down sides were exactly what I was looking for. I'll do my best to describe why these are perfect for me. I've always struggled to find earbuds that fit my ear canals. The right one especially is super skinny. I can do my best to shove any type of earbud down in there, but almost instantly my right ear canal just spits it back out. I also struggle with even just normal earplugs... SO narrow! Because of this, I've always had to be super picky with my earbud choice or just always use over-ear cans. Some buds that did work well enough for me in the past were Skull Candy Smokin' Buds. Once iPhone's lost the jack though, I ponied up for some wireless Bose Soundsports. Those probably worked the best to be honest (I'm kind of a a sound quality snob as well) but the wire that connected them kind of went all over the place which wasn't ideal and I eventually lost them. Then I was interested in trying something else that could stay even that much more securely attached when I exercised. I got some bone-conduction After Shokz (not the Titaniums... the skinnier ones). To this day I still have those, and although the sound quality is not even close to the Bose Soundsports, they did a great job staying perfectly in place. After thoroughly using my After Shokz I knew I wanted something that could stay just as secure on my head but had a lot more umph in the sound quality as well as drowning out most of the sounds going on around me. (I liked that the bone conduction headphones enabled you to still hear everything around you... but if you're near semi-loud to loud traffic, and you don't have a beanie on adding a little more pressure to the bone conduction headphones, you might not be able to hear your music very well at all). Enter the Plantronics BackBeat Fit 2100 Wireless headphones. I like almost everything about these headphones... They literally check every box for me. Louder and more enveloping than bone conduction. Very good quality of sound (some audiophile purist might disagree). Still allows a little of my surrounding sounds in. Stays firmly in place 100% of the time. I could wrestle a bear. The only thing that's not totally ideal is that after just more than an hour of wearing them, my ears start to feel sore right at the entrance to the ear canal. That's the only reason why I gave 4 stars and not 5. Honestly though, I think these are definitely worth the money, especially if any of the characteristics that I described are also important to you. May the force be with you. ... show more

  • Good headphones, bad seller - open box
I've been using these Backbeat Fit headphones for the last 10 years, mostly for gym workouts, hikes, dog walks, and around the house. This is my 4th pair, the other 3 were the previous model. I've been pretty happy with them and getting about 3 years of constant use before they break seems reasonable. This newer model of the Backbeat Fit is a little different. The cord connecting the earpieces is a little shorter and a little more rigid. The earpieces aren't quite as comfortable around the backside of the ear, but they still fit well and aren't uncomfortable. I like that the earpieces can still rotate for fit. As others have mentioned, the audio quality on the voice is noticeably less than the earlier versions. Similar to the earlier model, the sound quality is pretty good, and I like that you still get a bit of background noise through these. However, buying from this seller has been frustrating. I never got a tracking or other shipping confirmation. The original delivery window was delayed with no explanation. When I tried to contact the seller through Amazon, it connected me to an entirely different seller who had no record of my order. The seller that shipped it was apparently a different entity entirely (that makes 3 sellers in this transaction). Amazon support could offer no additional information or other way of contacting the seller. When the item arrived, it was clearly an open-box item despite being advertised as a new item in the Amazon listing. There's no mention of open-box on the listing. See photos on this review - the interior packaging was a bit chewed up, the charge cable was wrapped in a used twist-tie, and the original outer packaging was not included. The headphones appear to work fine after about 8 hours of use, but the bait-and-switch is frustrating. I would not recommend doing business with this seller. ... show more
