So since it’s shipped with the tubing coiled it makes it extra hard to get it to stay below water line even with a 5 gallon bucket filled completely. You need a weight to keep the tubing submerged or else it won’t work at all. Also even the slightest kink in the tubing at the base causes it to not blow humidity. Once you get it all perfectly it is great with automatic misting. Has so far helped with my tropical humidity loving plant Update: it is the worst purchase ever. It already isn’t working right. Don’t waste your time or money getting this.

I got this for a small grow tent I plan to set up after this Winter. I believe it will serve my needs well. The included controller, while having a range of options, is strictly time-based or manual, with no humidity sensing capabilities. You can just connect the power supply directly to the humidifier for constant-on operation, and then use a sensing controller to operate it based on actual need, rather than time. This is how I plan to use it when my grown tent is in place. The fogger operates on 24v DC power from the power supply and the timer can be installed in-line or left out. Basically this is just a tiny ultrasonic humidifier with a small self-filling reservoir. A pump controlled by a float fills it up and then shuts off, coming back on for just a few seconds at a time when the float drops enough to turn it on. The fog generated when turned up all the way is pretty impressive, really. My biggest complaint is how the fogger tube fits onto the reservoir. It doesn't fit very securely and seems easy to knock loose. I also noticed quite a bit of water accumulating around it, but I initially started it up without the fogger tube attached - exactly what the label says not to do. I may have gotten things wet that only work properly when dry. Not sure. It's clear that having the tube or one of the "discharge joints" attached acts as a splatter guard since the ultrasonic action can produce a lot of splashing inside the tank. After running it for a while though, I found myself wondering how well waterproofed the control knob is since it sits right next to the fog output. No issues in my brief test. Overall, this is a pretty cool little humidifier that I think will work perfectly for my grow tent, although I intend to run this off of a humidity sensing controller that will also be controlling heat, and skip the timer altogether. Nothing against the timer, it seems to work like it should and is pretty easy to set up, it's just not how I want to run things! At $54.98, this item seems a little overpriced for what it really is, but the compact size may be a huge advantage for some (despite having to pull water from elsewhere). If you have space for something with a reservoir, a plain ol' home humidifier might be able to get you what you need, depending on your application.

As others have said, it works well at first, but tends to conk out far sooner than it should. With some finagling, I can occasionally get it going again, but that's less and less true as time goes on.
