    • Strong Handles and a Secure Fit, Made from Alternative Materials
Scent: Unscented Size: 45 Count (Pack of 1)
Review Image by Jonjon & Chai

I’ve been really impressed with these Hippo Sak plant‑based kitchen bags. My favorite feature is the strong ergonomic handles — they make tying and carrying the bag so much easier, and they fit my trash can like a glove. The bottom feels super secure, and I haven’t had any issues with leaks or punctures. I also love that these are made from plant‑based materials instead of traditional plastic. It feels good choosing alternative plant-based materials without sacrificing strength. The bags are thick, durable, and hold up just as well (if not better) than the big name brands I’ve used. Overall, these are sturdy, reliable, and a solid choice for everyday kitchen use. ... show more

    • The Search for the “Holy Grail of Trash Bags” is OVER!
Scent: Unscented Size: 90 Count (Pack of 1)
The Search for the "Holy Grail" of Trash Bags is Over If you’ve ever experienced the "walk of shame" from your kitchen to the outdoor bin—leaving a trail of mysterious bin-juice behind you—you know the struggle. I’ve tried every brand that claims to be "ultra-strong" or "leak-guard guaranteed," only to be let down by messy punctures and soggy bottoms. Then I found the Hippo Sak, and my search officially ended. Why Hippo Sak Wins * Actually Leak-Proof: Unlike the "big name" competitors that talk a big game but fail under pressure, these bags are fortress-level secure. I haven't had a single drip or tear since switching. * Planet-Friendly: Most heavy-duty bags are a plastic nightmare. Hippo Saks are plant-based, making them a much kinder choice for the Earth without sacrificing an ounce of performance. * The "Power Bottom": They feature a unique reinforced bottom seal that handles heavy scraps and liquids like a pro. The Cost vs. Value Debate I’ll be honest: they are a bit on the pricier side compared to the generic bulk boxes. However, I’m actually saving money in the long run. I no longer have to spend a fortune on: * Disinfectant sprays to scrub out the bottom of the can. * Paper towels to mop up floor leaks. * "Double-bagging" (which effectively doubles the price of cheaper bags anyway). The Verdict If you’re tired of the 'others' claiming strength while leaking all over your kitchen floor, it’s time to upgrade. Hippo Sak is the sustainable, tough-as-nails solution your kitchen deserves. Final Score: 5/5 Stars ... show more

    • Plant-based and durable!
Scent: Unscented Size: 90 Count (Pack of 1)
These bags are really high quality kitchen bags, while being environmentally friendly. They don't break down right away like other plant based bags that I have used in the past. They are reasonably priced and a simple but impactful way to do our part to be kind to the earth.

I recently switched to the Hippo Sak Plant-Based Tall Kitchen Garbage Bags, and I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. These trash bags have exceeded my expectations in every way. Eco-Friendly: Made from plant-based materials, these bags are a great choice for anyone looking to reduce their environmental footprint. They are recyclable and eco-friendly, which makes me feel good about using them. Super Strong: Despite being eco-friendly, these bags are incredibly strong. I haven't experienced any tearing or leaking, even with heavy or sharp trash. Leak Proof: The bags hold up well against leaks, which is essential for kitchen use. No more worrying about messy spills! Ergonomic Handles: The handles are a fantastic addition. They make tying and carrying the bags so much easier and more convenient. Perfect Fit: These 13-gallon bags fit perfectly in my kitchen trash can, and I haven't had any issues with them slipping or being too small. Overall, the Hippo Sak Plant-Based Tall Kitchen Garbage Bags are an excellent choice for anyone looking to combine sustainability with functionality. They are strong, leak-proof, and easy to handle. • Plant Based - NOT Plastic! and comparable to other 'brand-name' garbage bags.
Scent: Unscented Size: 45 Count (Pack of 1)
Plant Based - NOT Plastic! We love finding and using alternatives to plastic. They are unscented. These bags work as well as plastic versions, not rips or tears. They stretch as well as regular kitchen garbage bags (NOT the Flexible kind), are easy to open and feel the same as regular plastic garbage bags. The weight feels the same and they are hey to hold our trash and slightly compress prior to taking to the dumpster. We have been using these for years and have never had one split. You may pay a little more than your run of the mill brands, but the satisfaction of no plastic is priceless. Highly recommended! ... show more

Scent: Unscented Size: 45 Count (Pack of 1)
So much better than what I expected!! I’ve tried several types of eco friendly trash bags in the past, but these hold up!! I had trash sitting in it for almost a week and it held strong as I pulled it out of my trash can. I’m impressed and will def. buy more when I run out.

    • Works as well as any plastic based bag!
Scent: Unscented Size: 45 Count (Pack of 1)
These bags work great without leaking of typical trash. No issues with ripping either. They fit our simple human trash can well (it normally takes size M bags). Only complaint is that with the handles and no drawstring you need to empty the trash on the early side to make sure you can tie it close. Overall a good, unscented plant based bag that is worth the money for the environment! ... show more
