It fits snuggly on my boy. I have a 65 lb male american pitbully, who is 18 months old. He is aggressive with my cats and other male dogs. Also, chews my walls and furniture when left alone. So, he has to be caged when I'm at work. This muzzle allows him to stay in the kitchen without being caged and the cats can be safe too. At first he was upset and tried to get it off, but once he realized it was not coming off, he settled. I introduced it to him on the first day by allowing him to sniff it only. The second day, I put it on and took it off as soon as he settled down, it was only 2 or three minutes. I gave him lots of treats after taking it off. Third day left it on for 5 to 10 minutes again giving him lots of love while he settled and treats after taking it off. Fourth day 20 minutes, etc. You get the process. Now he is wears it no problem. Took about a week to get him to be ok with wearing it. I like how he can pant and drink water with this muzzle. The cage is just wide enough that I can give him small treats while he is wearing it, but I prefer not to because if he drops the treat, it drives him a bit crazy because he can not get it into his mouth or it gets lost in the cage. Great product. I was a bit worried about it being a metal cage, but it really works well and allows him to drink water comfortably. The straps are padded on the nose and fit snuggly around his ears, so I have not found any rubbing or chaffing. I'm just glad I can take him for walks and he can be left home not locked up in a cage all day. Thank you!!! ... show more

Got this for my pit mix who sucks at the vet. I took his measurements, I think they were the exact measurements as the description said, and it fits with a good amount of wiggle room. The leather is cheap but it works. I can’t speak on how easy it is for the dog to get off as I don’t let him get the chance lol but I do like the wire, there’s not a lot of room but there’s enough for him to breathe and take treats (and oral vaccines) through without it being heavy ... show more

Iv had this muzzle on dog for 3 days and cheap strap that holds it on broke right in middle where hole is for fastening. Now I can't even use it what a waste of money. What kills me most is it's got a high quality steel Cage that's built to last and then they put cheap strap on it so we have to keep paying $40 for more of um instead of using nylon or real hide top grain leather like quality belts and boots. So disappointed would never recommend this product for amstaff/ pitbull mix who is a little active like most 10 month olds. I will be buying a different muzzle spending more of my hard earned money. My pup is a rescue but I believe he’s bully br ed type. He’s muzzle is short and his smile is wide so I went through a number of muzzles that didn’t work at all or fit uncomfortably. He gets “free air” with this muzzle with little air blockage but still has the basket for “safety”. The padding on the face doesn’t cut into his eye area like some others and he he’s able to smile big and pant when necessary. Finally… a muzzle I don’t feel bad about. Thank you!! ... show more
