Both my 3 and 6 year old's enjoyed this pirate treasure dig. It was easy enough for both of them to dig into, with the 3 year old needing a little more help obviously. The treasures appear to be good quality and the variety is fun for kids. They enjoyed being able to learn about the different coins and stories. It was a nice touch to include charms to turn into necklaces that fit the pirate treasure theme. Overall, Im happy with this digging kit and would buy another in the future or a different one from this brand/company!

My child is 5 and loved digging for the coins. My only complaint is the coins got discolored and don't look as nice as on the box. Also I would love a coin digging set with smaller pieces rather than a brick so that the fun can last over a longer period of time.

This was the best afternoon activity for my 6 year old. This coin dig kept her attention for a little over 2 hours. Just an FYI, do this activity outside on a tarp because it makes quite the mess. We started on the kitchen floor and then ended up in the back yard on a tarp. The coins are really cool and come with information about them. There are quite a few things to dig up. The tools they provide was sufficient; we did not need to get any other tools out to dig up the coins and fools gold. One thing I would suggest is the manufacture should add in at least 1 more pair of safety googles, as it only comes with 1 pair. I wore my sunglasses and my daughter wore the safety glasses. This would make a great birthday or Christmas gift, but this is definitely not a party favor. It is too big, too involved and too expensive to give as a party favor. I will definitely order this item again for my other daughter when she gets a little bit older.

A fun, well-built set that actually keeps kids busy and learning. This pirate coin dig kit surprised me in all the right ways. The coins look great—solid metal replicas with real detail, not cheap plastic junk. My kids got totally into the digging part, using the little hammer and chisel like pros. The block breaks apart easily enough for younger hands but still gives them that satisfying “dig” feeling. Between the pirate coins, Fool’s Gold, and charms, there’s plenty to keep them hunting and trading for a good while. What I liked most is that it’s not just a throwaway activity. They ended up talking about ancient coins, real treasure, and even started displaying their finds in the holders that came with it. You can tell the company put real thought into this kit—it’s part science project, part treasure hunt, and all-around fun. Tip: Lightly mist the dig block with the spray bottle before they start. It softens the surface just enough to keep the dust down and makes the digging smoother while still feeling like a real excavation. Hope this helps! =)

The media could not be loaded. Just buy it. For real. This is so fun, and a great activity and educational experience. I’ve been reviewing items through Vine for a while now, and I think this is such a fun and unique toy. I would give it six stars if I could. There are a few small problems, but nothing that stops me from recommending. • Issue 1: our plaster block arrived chipped and with a crack. No big deal. It’s meant to break anyway. • Issue 2: the little spray bottle was hard for my kids to spray. My wife ended up helping. No big deal. • The plaster didn’t chip too much—we still used eye protection for the kids (the kit comes with 1 pair of protective glasses). I wasn’t worried about my kids and flying pieces of plaster. The spray bottle keeps the chips from being too dangerous. • The tools worked fine. I gave my kids a few extra tools from my tool drawer. But the included tools worked fine and are all you need. • My almost four year old and six year old did this as an activity for about an hour and a half. And they are infamous for tearing through activities quickly. • The coins are high quality. My son was so excited to set them up in his room to display them. • The printed packet included a lot of great STEM/educational information about the coins. For kids who love pirates, archaeology, or coins, this is a really fun and educational buy. • My almost four year old did need some help. But my six year old could have done the whole activity by himself with little help. • My daughter loved the necklace—such a fun way to make the kit and coins extra special. • It’s a messy activity, so I’d recommend doing it outside on the patio or ground. I would not do this indoors. • For the cost, this would make a wonderful gift, or a special weekend activity for the family. • The listing describes this as a party favor—I don’t think I agree. This could be an activity at a pirate themed party. So maybe you buy a few of them? But it’s not a party favor, per se. • The outside of the plaster isn’t as bright or shiny as the listing photos. That didn’t bother us. All good. • I think I’d put the age range on this as 5 to 10. I think a 12 year old would still have fun, but might see it as a little childish. Just my opinion! Overall, this is parent and kid approved! My kids absolutely loved doing this. I’d highly recommend. A fantastic gift or activity for kids. And I think the value is there for the cost.
