  • Bad reviews from knockoffs??

First off let me clear the air... If you hit a rock it will bend! Like anything.. Lol i mean come in.. I live in California, politics aside the dirt is hard as rock and so is the soil just pack full. I remember as a kid a installer for huesnet knocking on are door saying he would give who ever wants to finish digging this hold to mount the dish 100 bucks so me and my brother said sure and finished digging the 2 foot deep hole taking us close to an hour long to dig because it's literally punch, break, dig, repeat for an inch of dirt, punch with a stake over and over to scrap some dirt out... So that's what I'm dealing with and these have been wonderful. I've been using them to hold down chicken wire that I'm using to keep my dogs in so far I've bout over 1k feet in chicken wire at 150 per role, and 4 boxes or these stakes.. Not every spot you can nail these down into rather to hard or to soft. You can't go through rock and I think people don't understand that because when I hammer in just hard dirt it goes in hard but strong no bending nothing. Now people are saying it's bending in soil??? Umm I doubt it I really do unless your hitting something in thay soil to cause a bend.. ... show more

  • Not sturdy, soft and weak don't buy these
Item Package Quantity: 1 Size: 11 Gauge
I have been using garden staples for years, and these are just terrible. I swear, driving them into sand ground bent them. I took out the rusted ones I had installed 4 years ago, and tried to drive them in the same place, and these bend like rubber. Super unhappy and unimpressed. I used a few so I am guessing I can't return them or I would. Just plain terrible A much better alternative. 6" Long 9 gauge steel that took a hammering unless I was trying to put it into a big rock. It even went through or around smaller ones! 100 Extra Heavy Duty Galvanized Anti-Rust Garden Landscape Staples Stakes Pins - Made in USA - Strong Pro Quality. • Stronger, but struggled with our clay soil
There is a drought in California, so the dirt here is dry, very dry. We used these landscape staples on a good sized front yard project. First the dirt was subjected to a rototill job, then raking to smooth, then installing drip irrigation, then covering the raked yard with landscape fabric. All 450 staples (plus another 150 from the big box store) were utilized at various points in this project. These staples were more substantial than the ones from big box, and they held down the dripper hose or penetrated the landscape fabric well enough, but probably 30 or more were badly mangled when they encountered hard clay in the ground. Another several dozen were bent and able to be re-bent and installed in a different location. I'd buy again as the value was much better than the big box staples. ... show more

  • Don't bother with these. They bend with ease
Item Package Quantity: 200 Size: 11 Gauge
These pale in comparison to the 11 gauge staples that i have purchased from other manufacturers. They bend with ease if they hit the slightest resistance. Feel more like aluminum than steel. About a 3rd of the 30 or so that I used bent horribly. I sent them back immediately. I was installing landscape fabric and ran out of my previous supply and switched over to these. The difference was night and day. I had very few bending on my until i switched over to these. Thankfully i was near the end of the project. ... show more

  • Going with the 9-guage was overkill for laying fabric.
These were a deal at about 14-bucks which is why I gave them a shot but for just laying some landscape fabric down with rock on top is was overkill for my application. even some fabric at the base of my garden boxes made out of 2x6’s really didn’t need anything this heavy and the 13-gauge has been more than adequate for me. Now that these are about 25-bucks for 100 I can get 200 of the thinner ones for about the same price. The upside of these is it will take longer for them to rust away. Plan on them rusting away because galvanized is just plating. A different brand of galvanized stakes I had in the garden last year for about 4-months look like then came up from the Titanic… but they are still functional. If my thinner ones don’t go in easily I move them around until they do. If you really need something sturdy this are those but they’re just too much for something that is held down by something heavier… like rock. ... show more

  • not very sturdy
Item Package Quantity: 200 Size: 11 Gauge
I purchased these staples to save a couple bucks rather than ones I purchased earlier this year. I use them to put down landscape fabric and mats for use on flower farm. BIG difference in quality of product vs. ones purchased earlier...and VERY frustrating to use. Unless the ground is super soft these staples bend in a variety of directions when they meet resistance. My rows have been tilled at least 8-10" and still had problems with every 4th or 5th staple bending. Save yourself the frustration and buy the ones that are just a little more expensive. ... show more

  • ... driving these into compost or soft topsoil I wouldn't waste my time or money on these landscape staples
Item Package Quantity: 1 Size: 11 Gauge
Unless your driving these into compost or soft topsoil I wouldn't waste my time or money on these landscape staples. We used about 80 of these and had limited success driving them in without them bending in all directions. They must be made out of a combination of cheap aluminum and playdoe. I had no choice but to use them as I was trying to finish up a job, but would gladly have thrown them in the trash if I could have. I'll try and repurchase the one's I used prior to these. They were steel and of much greater quality and stiffness. ... show more

  • Perfect Garden Staple
Item Package Quantity: 1 Size: 11 Gauge
I’m sick of weeding the landscaping! I want to enjoy relaxing on the deck and around the fire pit as I get left with my husband so I bought some black sheeting from the local hardware store, these landscaping stakes and went to it! I used a small hammer to put them in the ground since we have clay soil and i started this project in the fall when the soil was hard and dry. I bent a few on some rocks putting them in but not beyond unusable. I used the claw of the hammer to pull them up, bend back into shape with my hand and drive into the ground in another place. I ordered these at the same time as the stakes for my new edging but received these first. Wanting to get started I used these to hold down my hard plastic edging until the stakes arrived. My point is, these are definitely worth the money. Even as it rained and the ground softened they held the edging in place even on the curves. If my fabric needs to be redone in my garden next spring these will be my go to garden staples!! ... show more
