  • Makes it worth playing over again
I played this game on GameCube originally and loved every minute of it. I saw this and thought what was the point of buying it all over again when all there is that is new is differnet controls? Well the Wii controls for this game really do make the game so much more enjoyable. I figured pikmin was great with the old GameCube controls though really this game was made with Wii motion controls in mind as it makes getting Capt. Olimar's ship pieces even easier to get as well as being more precise with your aim. This game is great as it has a simple story that all ages can enjoy as well as having nice mechanics to use to solve the obstacles that get in your way to retrieving your ships parts. The game is still the same as its GameCube edition which is kind of a bummer as I would of loved to play maybe some new dungeons or some sort of new content though the game is still enjoyable a 2nd time around. I highly recommend this game to those that have never got a chance to experience this game the first time around and just recommend it to those that have before as it is the same ol' thing though with the new controls it is more enjoyable a second time around. ... show more

  • Great game!
I got this for my son as a birthday gift. He loved this game. So much so that he finished it on this first day. He's used this game to get to teach me his to play video games and figure out the controller. 'You can't teach an old dog new tricks" comes to mind when I think about my level of ability. I persist in trying though because it gives us something to do together. ... show more

  • A modern classic and great for kids
This game has been out for a while but I just wanted to chime in: I bought this because I have a 2 year old and was looking for good games to play (and be interested in) with my son, that he could also enjoy. Pikmin was an obvious choice. I played the original back in the game cube days, so I knew what I was in for. I must say, for a ten year old game, it holds up. The new play controls are very much intuitive, one would think the game was designed for the wii from the start. The graphics look old, they come from the gamecube of course, and other than resizing the display to fit a 16x9 screen without stretching, no improvements there have been made. Given the cartoony style of the game however, there's nothing really wrong with that, although some anti-aliasing would've been nice. This game is challenging & compelling, yet completely appropriate for children of any age and therefore makes an excellent gift to a young child. Rare is the game that nails a 'G' rating and is addicting to play in the modern gaming era. Pikmin nails it. ... show more

  • I promised myself to play this before I die!!
About the seller... Mmmm yes it was nice, arrived in time, perfect condition... about the Game... INCREDIBLE!!!! This was one of the games I promised to myself to play before I die!! haha!! Its just Awesome, total addicting, I finished it for the second time in two weeks and I want more, more, more pikmin, I was playing Metroid Prime Trilogy and Mass Effect and I stopped playing just to play Pikmin... its so good. But the only reason i rate this game with 4stars, its because is too short, and too easy (i got it finished in two days, over 12 hours of play, and i'm not a person who has much time to play) and the second reason is the time limit, if you miss one ship part, you have to rush the next day to catch up with the parts-days... but besides that, there are too much good things tha overpasses the bad things. Love the game, love the pikmins, love the controls, I WANT MORE PIKMIN!! ... show more

  • A couple months later....
Couple months later, and he's still playing! Both by himself, and with friends. He's actually asked for all three PIkmin games. Don't understand why Pikmin 2 is so expensive right now, but he's had a lot of fun with Pikmin 1, & Pikmin 3. Which is saying something! Lol! Normally he beats a game, and moves on to the next one, so we have definitely gotten our moneys worth out of this one! BTW he is 8, his group is 7-10uears old. Coming up our older boy's (up to college age) enjoyed playing Pikmin too, and will on occasion sit, and play the Pikmin games with him. I think it's because the Pikmin are so cute, and because the puzzles (it is a puzzle game) can get a little difficult. Hope our review helped! ... show more

  • PIKMIN?
Pikmin is about an alien named Olimar who's space ship crashes on his way home. With his ships pieces scattered across a strange planet, it's up to Olimar to find all of the pieces of his ship so he can return home. To do this, Olimar befriends a race of beings called Pikmin. Pikmin are these strange sprout like creatures that Olimar can pluck from the ground just like pulling carrots. Blue ones can swim. Red ones are immune to fire. And yellow ones can be thrown far. You need to work as a team with the Pikmin using the correct colors for the correct areas. There's actually a lot to talk about but really the best way to learn about this game is to play it. It's a gamecube game with wiimote controls and unfortunately nothing new was added so it is fairly short. It is a classic, though, and any Nintendo fan should have it as a part of their main collection. ... show more

  • Great RTS
This is a great strategy game. I heard about it before, but never took much interest into it. One day, my son was on Youtube and found a play-through of it. He said he was really interested. I saw him play and also found it to interesting. The areas were large and very polished. The cool thing which a lot of people find irritating is the 30 day time limit. Days are 13 minutes long and any Pikmin left behind will die. thats not the cool thing. The cool thing is that the are are three posible endings: 1. you find all 30 ship parts within the limit 2. You get all the required ship parts by the end of the 30th day and 3. you dont get all of the required ship parts. This is cool because if YOU crash landed on an alien planet, your air suppply would be cut short too. ... show more
