This was an awesome beginner set. We are new to the pickleball arena and were looking something that would be perfect for the whole family. This was a great set for that purpose. Our family of 4 were able to go to the free courts at a nearby park and play for a couple hours. The balls hit the paddles well for even hits and strong bounces. The designs are cute and we all get to have our own color with this particular set. Having the extra balls were appreciated, but we were in a fenced in court and only needed one ball for the entire time.

This doesn't feel like wood at all but feels more like plastic. Looking at the exposed ends, the handles definitely appear to be something synthetic. I have not peeled back the paddle covering but would be surprised if that was made of wood as well give the make of the handles. These feel lighter than I would have expected for wood. This might be fine if you were expecting synthetic but feels a little cheap when you were expecting wood as advertise.

This is a nice beginner pickleball set. The paddles feel good in the hand with a soft grip. The bag is nice and the ability to carry 4 paddles and 4 balls is great. Paddles make the expected "dink" sound. This will be good at our friend's vacation house pickle ball court.

We're new to the world of pickleball, so this set was an excellent starter set for us. It included everything we needed to hit our local court - including a nice set of LAMINATED directions on how to play the game. This was especially nice for us being newbies for quick reference during our first outing. The kit comes with 4 paddles, a nice set that allows the entire family to play. The paddles themselves have a nice feel to them. They feel like a good entry-mid level paddle that are wood, laminated in a plastic-type material with a printed design on them. The design is nice and has an overall good aesthetic to it. The handles are soft, and well-wrapped making them comfortable to hold during the game. The edge of the paddles have a plastic protector, which is a nice added feature as I'm sure over time we'll knock them on the ground etc. The kit comes with 4 balls, 2 different colors each. They seam like a decent quality ball to get you into your game. They were consistent with bounce and hitting direction. I'm sure they will wear out over time, but it's nice that there were 4 included. I didn't see any issues with them. The kit also comes with a bag/pouch to transport your equipment. This is probably the biggest downfall of the kit as while it's nice to have some way to store/transport your equipment, this bag fell short on a few things. It would of been nice for it to of been more of a "case" that kept things (ie the balls) from rolling out while in store. Also, we did have the handles of the paddles get caught in the webbing of the bag, making it a little more time consuming to get your equipment out. Don't buy this kit simply because it includes the bag, as it's really not that useful. And lastly, the kit came with a very nice set of directions. It was nice that they were a heavy laminated material that allows you to take them with you without worry of crinkling them over time. As a newbie to the sport, the directions were very well wrote, included nice diagrams, and were very helpful in getting us started on our first game. It was nice that they took the time to help make it a stress-free first game. Overall this kit met our expectations for an entry-level first time set. The only downfall for us was the bag, as it would of been nice to have something that held the paddles and balls more securely.
