Night 1, it charged and had a pretty faux flame look but checking the next morning it only had 4-5 little bugs zapped/dead stuck to it so don’t think if is effective to keep mosquitoes away but is pretty decoratively…

To be clear, these are very very pretty. However, they do not work in the least, at attracting and zapping mosquitoes. My old school blue bug zapper goes off each night like a machine gun, but it was so unsightly, so i ordered these. The look and ambiance are beautiful. If you only want these for decoration, they’d be great. I removed my old blue zapper and put 2 of these on my lawn, 1.5 feet off the ground with shepherd hooks. They never zapped anything. I let them go by themselves for an entire week. Tonight, I unscrewed the bottom of each lamp, to check how many bugs they killed. There wasn’t a single dead bug in EITHER LAMP!!! All that was in them was some stray grass shavings from when the gardener came a few days ago. So, tonight there was still no zapping whatsoever. I brought out my old traditional blue-light zapper and set it on a stand right next to onr of these useless lamps. Guess what happened within 15 seconds. Zap, zap, zap, zap, zap… These are pretty, but useless. Do not purchase them unless you just want the flickering lamps for ambiance.

We love these and bought enough to put on each rail on our deck. They really look good and are full of bugs. We screwed a heavy duty magnet to the bottom so they stick to our metal rails and don’t have to worry about wind blowing them off and breaking them. My only wish was for them to turn on sooner in the evening or have a button to turn on not just the solar power auto, because they do not come on until DARK and by then we are done with dinner and sitting outside. A cap to place over the solar part so it turns on when you want would be nice idea too. Otherwise we Love these and have 10 of them already and want to get more for our RV.

I placed my order on July 20th and received my order pretty quick. I love the lamps and the fire effect they provide, it looks beautiful. The problem is that on July 30th one of my lamps stopped working (blue LED light went out). I will be contacting Amazon to discuss my options.
