This printer is amazing I’ve used it 4 times now it works really well for printing essays and lists but not for photos. If you do print a screenshot make sure it’s in light mode not dark mode.

I generally like Phomemo printers and papers, but this one isn't my cup of tea. I have only tried it with regular printer paper, 8.5x11 size, and the print quality is lighter and less consistent than that of my desktop ink printer. Inserting a page of paper is a tricky business and you have to be exact. There are internal guides to set the size of paper you'll be printing to, but even with that I found it too easy to insert pages unevenly. That obviously impacts how your final printout looks. Finally, 2 of Phomemo's printer rolls for this printer cost about $20 for 2 rolls at the time of this review. They state that each roll is good for 45 sheets of letter sized paper. That calculates out to about 22 cents per page as opposed to the .3 cents per page of my desktop printer with a full ink set, which also costs about $20. If this little printer did a spectacular job, it would be worth that cost to have an emergency printer available to me, but it achieves only an "acceptable" evaluation. I have not tried this as a thermal printer. I looked at the cost of 200 sheets of thermal printer paper for this specific printer, appx $205 at the time of this review. I won't be trying this option. Bottom line: in terms of price per sheet, this printer is ghastly expensive to use as a thermal printer, and very costly as a regular printer. Print quality is just fair. But if you need a travel printer occasionally, this one is easily transported and easy to use. ... show more

Well, I really like this Phomemo P831 printer, it's much better than my previous M08F thermal printer in all aspects. The printer itself is small and compact, making it easy to take with you wherever you go. It fits easily in a backpack or a shoulder bag, and it's surprisingly lightweight (only around 750 grams!), but still feels like a sturdy piece of equipment. The app connection and setup is fairly easy, and it took me less than 5 minutes to start printing. But if you have troubles connecting, use this trick - double press the power button and the printer will print out a QR. Then just scan this code with the app, and it will connect to the printer no problem. Once connected, the printer works flawlessly. The app is well-designed and straightforward to use, which is great for people who aren't tech-savvy. You can print all sorts of things from the app, such as web pages, photos, and documents. You can also connect it to your PC or Mac and print the same way as you do with any other printer. The printing itself is quick, and the quality is excellent at 300 dpi. The text is sharp, high contrast, and easy to read. The fact that this printer only prints in black and white may be a turn-off for some people who want color printing, but for me, it's not an issue and BW documents printouts are outstanding. The battery is 2000 mAh that allows you to print whooping 120 pages without ever recharging, which is fantastic for mobile printing when you don't have any power source nearby. Now, the best thing about this printer that actually sold it for me is that it can use both special thermal paper and regular plain paper! Yes, that's right, you can print on standard A4 or Letter paper, so you don't need to purchase expensive thermal paper rolls specially for this printer (though you still need thermal ribbon to print). I like to use regular paper because it's not as glossy as thermal paper and the end cost is lower compared to specialized paper. End-to-end, while I don't think that this printer will replace my standalone office printer, for occasional use on-the-do outside your office or home it's a perfect and cheap alternative. *** TL;DR *** The Phomemo P831 is a compact, lightweight printer with easy setup and Bluetooth connectivity. It prints flawlessly, lasting through 120 pages on a single charge, and the app is user-friendly for various print jobs. Quality at 300 dpi is impressive for text. Its ability to use both thermal and regular paper is a game changer and makes it a great portable option, ideal for occasional use outside the office or home. The only downside is that it only prints in black and white, which might not suit those needing color prints. But for BW documents it's perfect. This Printer is very easy to use, and is ridiculously simple to connect to my iPhone via Bluetooth. I like the durable zip up travel storage case that is included with this printer and I like the sleek, modern design of this Printer as well.

This printer is described as a thermal printer without the need of thermal paper and ink. Not at all. This is a regular, very expensive printer, that instead of using regulat ink uses a roll, that works as ink. Every page, the roll moves and the page prints. Bottom line, you need to keep buying the rolls and each roll prints about 10 pages, and they cost a lot (it comes to about $1-$2 per page). It is much cheaper to have your pages printed professionally in a store. I find that this is an extremely fraudulent item and I would not recommend to anyone to buy it. ... show more
