    • It's a little bit of work
The unit comes apart easily, but there are several pieces to clean out. You get a really nice little pick for getting dough out of the molds. The controls are funny... you have to turn the unit and press buttons in the right order for the scale to work correctly. I'm pretty dissatisfied with the recipe book. The units of measure for flour don't match the display; book states flour in grams, display reads a decimal number. I CANNOT figure out what it is supposed to tell me. It is not cups or grams; it could be pounds... not really sure. The math works fine when it calculates the amount of water to be used. I've figured out a really good gluten free recipe that we run through the machine (not in the book). The main reason for purchasing it was to make GF Pasta for my wife. Lastly, remember to clean up right away! If you let the dough start to dry out in the machine, it is a bear to clean. ... show more

For what I paid for this machine it’s a mediocre appliance. You cannot use pasta machine recipes (Atlas 150) for this machine It’s confusing, you must turn on the Avance first and let the built-in scale zero itself, Then you add their recommended flour. It won’t let you make a small amount of pasta. You must add the required minimum amount of flour or the machine won’t work. You must add the require ratio of water, no more. It does not allow adjustment of the mix. Their recipes are included. If you want to use another recipe, you cannot. It wastes a lot of dough, because there are voids in the dies. This makes extruded pastas only. The dies cannot be cleaned unless you let the pasta dry and clean out the dies the next day, as recommended. You cannot make a sheet of pasta to custom cut as you need. I am keeping my 30 year old motorized Atlas 150. ... show more

    • Like a Playdough Fun Factory with Purpose
It’s fun to experiment with different pasta flavors and this machine is very easy to use. Last year I gave several friends home made lemon lingunie pasta from this machine. Yes, it is a splurge but I am thrilled to have finally found a simple way to make fresh pasta.

It is lots of fun to have guests over and make the pasta, then toss it in the pan of boiling water, delicious pasta! The fresh taste is amazing! My favorite part is you don’t clean it till the next day. Whatever leftover flour mixture hardens and flakes right off making it very easy to clean.
