  • Love
Style: Lily Base Kit
These lights are perfect for our front yard landscaping. They illuminate the front of our house and front gardens very well. Easy to set up and control though the app. We bought a second set!

  • There are no spare parts from Phillips
Style: Calla Extension
I have no concerns with this product and have three of them in my backyard. I’m a devoted Hue user inside my home as well. But I’m also very disappointed that they don’t have any parts for this particular bollard outdoor light. The plastic spike is well, plastic, and not super durable. So when you break it in the hard ground or your kid kicks it over or a soccer ball hits it you’re out of luck and they want you to buy a whole new light. ... show more

  • Expensive ... but Oh So Worth It!!
Style: Lily XL Extension
I have a strong preference for Philips Hue lights. I have several in my home and use the Hue Lily and Lily XL lights to accentuate our outdoor living space. My experience with the Hue lights has been excellent and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone who is seeking to create a unique outdoor look. These lights are expensive. You can buy a whole set of landscape lights for the cost of one Hue Lily spotlight. That said, these lights are well worth the cost. They are very well built and well designed. They cast more light than any landscape spotlight I have seen. We live in Minnesota where the winters are cold and the summers can be hot. We have never had any issue with these lights failing in these harsh climate conditions. What I like about Hue lights is the seemingly endless options available for lights colors and vibrance. There are multiple apps available from Philips and third parties that allow these bulbs to show their full spectrum of possibilities. I can set an endless array of color patterns and lighting effects ... all from the app on my iPhone. Installation is simple. The included cable is easy to connect to the Hue power pack (sold separately). The cable uses a threaded fitting that ensures a solid waterproof connection that is never at risk of being disconnected. The lights create their own wifi network which is very convenient for outdoor applications. The instructions state that the first light must be within 30 feet of the Hue hub (sold separately). My experience is that they will reach well beyond that distance. Each successive light can be within 60 feet of a connected light. Again, my experience suggests the lights will extend well beyond that stated range. Why is this important? The wifi network the bulbs create for themselves is what allows the app to change light colors and intensity. I have never experienced sluggishness or delays when changing light colors. From app to light the change is instantaneous. I highly recommend Hue outdoor lights to anyone looking for a unique approach to outdoor lighting. These lights will allow you to realize whatever your mind can think of ... and more. ... show more

  • Needs a better connection
Style: Lily Extension
I love Philips Hue, have loved them from the start and I was super excited to get outdoor versions when they came out. I was very surprised by the price of these lights. $200 for a single light is a little crazy in my opinion but I purchased 11 out door lights anyway. They were great for about 11 months or so, then one light suddenly wouldn’t stop flashing like a strobe light. Took the out of the daisy chain connection which completely screwed up my entire configuration, and found that despite how tight I had it on, water must have made its way into the t-connectors and cause rust and the pins were broken off completely. I got a replacement then a couple weeks goes by and another light, same issue, then another. Well now 4 out of my original 11 are non functional. That’s almost $800 in lights that barely made it a year. For that kind of money I’m a bit disappointed in the quality max needless to say that as they die I won’t be replacing them any longer, and probably going to look into more affordable brands. Maybe if they redesign the connection type and also find a better way for them to connect together, I might consider trying them again down the road. But reconfiguring was a headache in its self. Do I think they’re make great products,? Yes! Do I still love my indoors hue lights? Yes! I just don’t recommend the any of the outdoor lights, period. In fact, I have a standard color hue in my outdoor front porch light, even though it says not to do that but that light is gong strong for 3 years now…. ... show more

  • Great Lights, Horrible connection system for outdoor lights!!!
Style: Calla Extension
I have used Phillips Hue for over 10 years. I have 2 bridges set up and over 60 lights in and around my house. I LOVE the lights…but I am amazed at what a poor decision it is by Phillips that you can not buy a replacement T-connector if one shorts out…and multiple connectors WILL SHORT OUT!! After a few months All of a sudden one of your spot lights will start to blink repeatedly and then frome that light all the way down the chain the lights will no longer work, and the only way to fix it is to break the whole system apart and test every piece. Then if you do have bad connectors you have to order a $25 kit thats comes w a 8ft wire and a cheap T-connector. I have about 10 eight foot wires brand new still rolled up bc i just need the stupid connector!! Why Phillips? As innovative of a company as you have been, has no one thought of this? I have had to break my system down 3 times over the last fee years and replace nearly every connector. At this point i would love to switch to a different outdoor light but I have $1000’s already invested in Hue! The inside lights work great and i would recommend. And the outside lights themselves work great too but the greatest light only works as good as theor connectors…and those absolutely suck! ... show more
