The stock bulbs on my 2003 Toyota 4runner were starting to look a little dim. So, after polishing and protecting the polycarbonate headlight lenses, I decided to order new bulbs. These are definitely brighter than stock bulbs and have a cooler, whiter color. They are not as bright as some of the high end bulbs from Philips or Sylvania, but they also don't have the high price or shorter lifespan. I have seen many of those lasting little more than a year or 2. I will be happy if I can get 3-5 years out of these. Installation was fairly easy. The hardest part was getting the bulb housing loose from the back of the headlight enclosure. If you are buying these to increase the brightness old headlights, don't bother if your lens enclosures are cloudy or yellow. Make sure to first polish your lenses and cover them with a new UV clearcoat, then get new bulbs. ... show more

I've been very disappointed in these bulbs. I replaced my headlights and fog lights with LED bulbs a couple of years ago. I love the crisp, white light that they produce. Unfortunately I had issues with them flickering and after two different sets I decided to go back to halogen bulbs. But I didn't want to lose the white light, so I did a little research and decided I'd give these a try. They had good reviews, so I was hopeful. Sadly, these bulbs let me down. I knew that they wouldn't be as bright as the LEDs and maybe it's not fair that I compare the intensities of the different bulb types. But after having the others for a few years, I now feel like I can't see anything more than about 20 feet in front of me. And as for the color, I specifically chose these bulbs because of their supposed white light. There is nothing "white" about the light these bulbs emit. They're the same awful yellow color as every other halogen headlights on the road. So, for bulbs that advertise superior light output for seeing farther while emitting clean white light, I have to say they failed miserably in both regards. ... show more

Prior to these, we had older halogen (yellowish). These fit as they should and bring up a great deal more visible/clear light. I don't think the necessarily project more light way down the roadway, but the normal distance in front and especially the peripheral is so much brighter, which in deer country is GOLD! 8/28/17 UPDATE - Tuned my lamps on last night and the left one was dead. Ordered this pack in October of 2016. In defense of the light bulbs, I've been driving about 700 miles per week since April of 2017 and I normally drive with my lights on during the day. That being said, I still remember that it wasn't THAT easy to replace the bulbs so I was looking forward to years of service and these didn't make it one year from the order date. Leaving the rating at 3 stars because I think they worked well. Full disclosure - I'm hoping for more throw from the bulb and I went with the Philips 9006 X-tremeVision Upgrade Headlight Bulb, 2 Pack version this time around. Just installed tonight and I'm not blown away...I guess I was expecting more out of "Bright white Xenon look". It's good value for the price; but again, I think the packaging makes it seem like more than it really is. I would recommend buying this and would do so again for the price but don't expect to be blown away. ... show more
