  • For thoes looking for white light and have been messing with LEDs to get it, get these instead.
Style: 9011
I tried for two years to find a set of LED 9005 high beams that worked worth a crap. All of them had some problem or another (some didn't support DRL functionality, even though you'd think that would be basic stuff; some didn't throw light in a way that was even remotely proper, some flickered no matter what harness or adapter or resistor you used), and eventually I just broke down and bought these like I knew I probably should have from the start. And the difference is real. Between these and the top of the line 9005s (brighter light and whiter light than GE Nighthawk Platniums) and the best LED drop ins you can get (they just work, for starters. No fiddling with adjustments to try and control the scatter) is crazy considering how similar the price is and how much better the performance is. Don't write them off because they don't have the blue tips usually seen the slightly whiten light in 9005s (these are much whiter than the Nighthawks were), and don't shy away because you need to change them to fit (a pair of big toenail clippers about about 30 seconds a bulb was all it took to get them to fir perfect in my car). ... show more

  • A Decent Bulb that Lights the Way, at a Respectable Price
Style: H1 / 12258
I have a 2006 Honda CR-V, which seems to blow headlights frequently (3-6 months on average). This could be related to the fact that I continually purchased brighter bulbs (trying to compensate for severe lens hazing) and the fact that I didn't use dielectric grease 'til now (despite friends saying it would help stop blown bulbs). I decided to change a few things with this bulb install. First, I restored and sealed my lenses. Second, I used the dielectric grease. As always, I used latex gloves so no oils from my fingers got on the bulbs; and, I was very careful when inserting the bulbs in the housings not to let the bulbs touch anything. The Philips bulbs have been installed for over five months now, with no signs of trouble. The pics provided pretty much speak for themselves. The bulbs simply worked and threw out the standard amount of yellow light you'd expect from a typical H1 bulb. If they get me through 8 months to a year, I'll definitely buy these bulbs again. If I have any reason to change my review, I'll do so ASAP. 'Til then, take care. ... show more

  • Great H11 to H9 low beam upgrade!
Style: 12361 / H9
I did a H11 to H9 low beam swap on a Toyota 4runner TRD Pro, using these bulbs. They are noticeably, but not obnoxiously, whiter and brighter than the 4runner's stock low beams. Same bulb design except you must snip out a little tab inside the new bulb's housing. There are numerous tube videos showing you how to do this. It's a 5 min job. Then they simply click into the stock light socket and fit perfectly, because they are the same design as OEM. This is an inexpensive way to upgrade your H11 low beams to something much better without looking silly or having to deal with a more expensive and complicated new light set-up. ... show more

  • These magic lanterns will make you an lumen illuminati and outlaw!
Style: 12361 / H9
Now there is a chance you are buying these to for their actual intent: to replace your brghts. If that is the case these are fine. But if you have followed the hidden breadcrumb path of Youtubes, and have journeyed here as hopeful entrant into the secret club of auto-lumens illuminati, your journey is nearly complete. Get these, and an exacto knife, and new worlds will open to you. Well if not new worlds, at least a few score more meters down the road on a dark night. Yes the DOT says you will put your eye out. Others say the sin of using these in your driving lights will make hair grow on you palms. Now one of those did happen to me, I won't say which, but even so I have no regrets! Oh and fk the naysayers, DOT allows much brighter HID and OEM LED driving lights. Note Bene: 1) since they are brighter at least do make sure you headlights are not aimed higher than they should be. 2) you may want to buy four and do the hack cutting on all four since they will be expected to last only aobut 50% as long as h11. 3) These will not work well in housings that do not have their own reflector. Wife's Forester (rated by consumer reports as having the worst strength factory headlights of any SUV) has a reflector. So these are perfect in it. but since h9 does not have a reflector inside the bulb like h11 does, you will end up with worse lighting if you put these in a housing that has no reflector forward of the bulb. ... show more

  • I trimmed the tabs on the H9s to use these ...
Style: 12361 / H9
I trimmed the tabs on the H9s to use these as replacements for my H11 bulbs in my Focus ST in order to throw more light down the road without blinding other drivers. They are brighter than the H11s, but are short of a factory HID. But at least the bulb focal point is the same unlike many aftermarket HID kits. They have not discolored the chrome housing or the lens on my headlights due to the higher temps. ... show more

  • Upgrade for 2015 Silverado 2500HD sorry lights.
Style: 12361 / H9
2015 GM headlights in the HD trucks are dangerous. This was an attempt at bringing them up to worthless. I can almost see the road now. I live in the country where peripheral lighting is essential. These trucks have none. So much for the rant. Sorry. On to the revue...... I recieved the lights in a timely manner and in good condition. Both burned as expected. Installation went as all other reviewers have written. I'm old school and I remember when headlights weren't hidden behind air cleaner boxes and radiator hoses and air conditioning condensers and fan shrouds and fender gussets and battery boxes and...... Human limbs only bend a certain amount of directions. Sorry for the rant. Again. These lights helped brighten up the road at night. Successfully brought the lights up from dangerous to worthless. GM was successful in keeping me off the road at night. Halogen bulbs have the warm lighting temperature to the yellowish side and illuminate down road well without blinding oncoming drivers in the headlight design of this series of trucks. I would purchase again. ... show more
