I'm very pleased with this peppermill. It is really quiet and puts out a very good volume of ground pepper. after using many cheap mills over the years this Zeli mill is such an upgrade, somewhat expensive but to me well worth it. The light is very helpful. Only downside is that it does retain some ground pepper after you stop. I find if you tap the bottom a few times when you're done takes care of it. At the price point you probably shouldn't have to do it but I'm used to doing and don't think about it. Overall extremely happy.

Prior to buying this grinder, I owned one for about 5 to 6 years. The plastic inserts that holds the pepper broke at the threads. Was not able to buy a replacement part. I have enjoyed this Pepper grinder and salt grinder since I bought them. Kind of expensive for plastic threads, but I would still recommend it for purchase.

I purchased one of these about 20 years ago and about two years ago a friend of mine thought it was a regular pepper grinder. Well, he twisted it and broke it. Are used in Peppermill for years and years and marveled at its quality and precision. I decided to buy a new one and noticed right away the quality had declined. The light doesn’t work (not really important) but the adjustment thumb screw for the coarseness of the grind Immediately stripped. Also, the fit and finish is not up to the same standard as the old one. It seems like the company is trying to eke out more profit by using less quality materials. Too bad.

Love, love, LOVE this electric peppermill. My mom and I have arthritis and though it was hard to open the first time, it loosened up and made it easier after the initial opening. You hardly have to touch the top button to grind and the light is the coolest thing I have seen so you know exactly how much and where you pepper goes. Very clever! Only downsize is that there isn't much pepper that goes in it, so time will tell how often we have to refill it. But in the end, that really isn't a bad thing. Bigger means heavier which can be a problem when you have hand issues. Now we'll see how long the batteries last and how often we have to replace them. But so far, we love it!

I went through several electric grinders before finding this one. I often need to grind LARGE amounts of pepper for steak au poivre or other uses. Most grinders are just too slow or underpowered, and are really only appropriate for sprinkling a little pepper at the dinner table. This sucker grinds out a huge pile of pepper in no time. Overall it's great, but I have a couple problems with it. The first is, the button you press on the top is flush with the cap that gets removed to add pepper and the cap fits really tightly around it. When you put the cap back on, it often puts enough pressure on the button to activate it - sometimes AT A LATER TIME. I once was going to bed when I heard this strange noise coming from the kitchen, and when I went to investigate I found the pepper mill sitting on a pile of ground pepper, whirring away on its own with an empty chamber! The other problem is that the chamber that contains the peppercorns is pretty small and needs refilling often, which may be a good thing in light of the first problem.

I have owned a number of pepper mills in my time. I am an avid cook, but do not like to constantly grind pepper manually. Before I purchased this, I read a rather negative review, but bought it anyway. I am relatively technically oriented. I figured a grinder would not be a problem. The grinder came today. It is beautiful. The instructions are also teeny. tiny small. I needed a magnifing glass to read them. BUT, they were very clear. Insert the pepper. Insert the batteries (the negative side go by the spring) install the batteries back and place on top of the grinder. viola. It works lovely. Beautiful grinder. A definite winner. Please don't go by the negative review. I love this and used it at dinner tonight. Regarding the cost, as I said, I have owned many grinders and it is not worth purchasing an "inexpensive" useless one that does not have a proper grinding mechanism inside. The insides really matter. The mechanisms in this grinder are wonderful. I used a board spectrum of grinds this evening to test the mechanism and see how well it functioned. That was because I purchased two mills. I am happy I did. It functioned perfectly in my grnd test. The cost becomes irrelevant. Great mill. Great mechanism. Great look. Great purchase. go for it......

Looks great, with nice chrome body. But when it drinds, it produces too few of the ground papper at a time and the particles are uneven in size. Turning the grind size knob seems not to have much effect on the grind size - it makes the same uneven size particles of all sizes.

Peugeot won't disappoint you. It works perfectly. It is a bit chubby, i expected it to be a bit slimmer. But it is still handy and rather light (I mean, i like to hold it in my hands.). To mill pepper, you gently press on the button at the top (it is level with the top surface, so you don't see it in the picture). As you do so, the light (which comes from a bulb at the bottom of the mill) lits up and you see where exactly you sprinkle pepper and how much. The sound the mill makes is not loud and it is somehow pleasant to hear. Oh, yes, the mill comes with an extra bulb. Make sure you find it in the package box before you toss it. The container for pepper is large enough for us (holds about 2.5-3 tablespoons of pepper). My husband got the mill as a gift and he is willing to get a salt mill like this. The only thing that may stop him is the price. But I personally think that it will serve us a long time; therefore it's worth it.
