Everyone in my family has a "go!" bag ready to grab in case we have to leave our home quickly in an emergency. I ordered this travel bag to serve as our guinea pig's "go!" bag. The largest compartment with the divider removed easily holds an entire box (several week's worth) of orchard hay. There is also room for a spare the pop-up pen identical to the one she uses every day. The two round zippered containers hold quite a bit of kibble, and the expandable bowls will work for feeding her that kibble and also for water. (Our GP likes to drink out of dish, rather than a hanging water dispenser.) There was also room in various compartments for several of her quilted cage liners, blankets, and the Pigmeister's few little toys, brush, nail clipper, and medications. We have a water bottle filled and in the elastic pocket. Sanitary wipes (for cleaning the bottom of her travel cage, the pop-up pen, or our hands, fit nicely in the tissue/poop-bag pocket, as do several small bags for use in the eventual disposal of her pellets. Basically, everything necessary to set our pigster up in a home-away-from-home in an emergency fits in this bag. Another plus, the bag can be worn as a relatively comfortable backpack, leaving one hand free for her traveling cage and one hand free to carry a human "go!" bag. It's also not bad looking. It does seem sturdy enough for this purpose, so I am happy to have this in our home. The only problem I had with this, and it is extremely trivial, is that it came with a plastic scoop (I assume for dry dog food) that had a nasty bit of black greasy "gunk" on it that got on my hand. It washed off both the scoop and my hand with a little soap, so no harm done. The scoop has been repurposed. The rest of the bag seems to be pristine. ... show more

This thing is BIG. It has pockets, pouches, zippers etc... all over it! Should have no problem fitting everything you and your pet need.

My family has been working on our emergency preparedness. Our pets are family. We needed to prep for them too. This bag comes with 2 round zippered bags for food, a handled scoop marked with half-cup and full-cup measurements. It also had two small folding silicon bowls. The bag has a lot of pockets, and the main compartment can be sectioned off with an included partition. We have two cats, and we were able to get a week’s worth of both dry and canned food in the bag, along with their folding litter box, a gallon-sized zipper bag of cat litter, a couple of puppy pads (to put under the litter box when it’s in use), two towels, and still had room for other things we want to add later. We added an extra folding silicon bowl as the cats need separate food bowls but will drink from the same water bowl. If we had a dog and planned to take them on a road trip, this would be great to take whatever you needed for them. There is a pocket on the side of the bag with a hole that allows you to pull poop bags through it. For us, this makes the most sense. We also like the various ways we can carry the bag, from backpacking it to over-the-shoulder or cross-body, or hand carry. Depending on what else we have with us if we need to get going, having different ways to carry things can make a difference in how fast we can leave.     • This bag is huge....
First off, I'd like to point out the great quality this bag is made with. I haven't had a single issue with any stuck zippers, tears or stains. You can even feel the quality in the zippers cause they are not at all cheap ones that break or bend after a few tugs. It's comfortable to wear and did I mention this bag is massive! Unless you are feeding a small troupe of circus dogs or a couple saint bernards, you are most likely going to find yourself filling it with much more than pet food! Not that would be or should be a problem. I pack my things and the dog's stuff all in this bag. I also want to point out that this bags shape makes it super easy to pack in the car without it getting crushed. It maintains its overall boxish shape and you don't have to worry much if things should happen to get set on top of it. I had been looking for some time for a bag that I could primarily designate as a bug-out bag for our pets (1 senior medium sized dog and 2 cats), and I believe this bag is it! It's ability to hold several items with its multitude of pockets and designated space is beyond your normal travel bags for your pets. As advertised it comes with a food scooper, and two silicon bowls that collapse with carabiner clip. Additionally, two bowl covers, or if you are in a pinch you can use them as your actual bowls to decant your pets food in. The inside space of this is massive. It comes with a removable velcro divider if you feel it necessary to separate your items. If not the space will allow for several necessary items in the form of food, medication and toys. I plan on packing food for 1 week for each pet, along with travel liter box in mind, knowing that there's still room left, not including the outside organizing pockets. Additionally, you have the capability of utilizing this in backpack form, or using the strap included in carry-on form. Lastly, the material is well sewn, after examination I didn't see any loose threads and gaps in material. The cloth is non-permeable against liquids. All in all - this is a fantastic, well functional bag for your pet travel/bug out needs. I would highly recommend. ... show more

    • Incredibly handy to have when traveling!!
I absolutely LOVE this bag! My husband fell ill and I needed to take him to the emergency room. Going in on our own, we knew we'd be there for hours. I had pre-filled the food containers and made sure my service dog's extra leash, vest, bowls, and toys were packed. I was able to pick up this bag and head out the door knowing that I had everything I needed. Husband ended up staying 2 weeks in the hospital and I was able to stay with him because I had supplies for Cashew (my service dog). This bag is so handy and fits well in small spaces.
