I have used this thing several times and it really does the job and only needs to be charged once in a blue moon. Exactly as described, great quality, strong and thick. Way better than those cheap ones at the stores. I have a boxer he has thick nails, I have broken those famous blue ones they sell everywhere attempting to cut his nails. These ones cut through no prob like a pair of snips.

I’ve had many nail trimmers over the years, but this one is by far the best. It holds a charge forever, blade is sharp, but with the safety shield there are no worries about cutting wrong. Both sides (manual blade and grinder wheel) have a nice bright pen light focused right on the cutting area. It’s the first clipper I’ve ever had that my dogs weren’t terrified of. The grinder is very quiet and spins at a rotation that is effective and quiet. I love this tool and my dogs are ok with it too ... show more

This item was used before sent to me. One of the pictures shows what it looked like when I opened the box. The grinder already had nail residue on it. The cutter had particles on it but nothing crazy or gross, just shows that it was used. But I don't think it affects its performance. I did swab it down with alcohol- the cutter and the grinder had debris on them. The cutter works OK. I did have one nail splinter a bit, my old dedicated cutter I lost did not have this issue. Never used a grinder before so I gingerly tried it on my dog. No problems. Hold the nail, be mindful of the heat the action generates. Smoky too. ... show more

We have a puppy with pitch black nails. Having the light makes it really easy to see how much we are cutting. We can’t see through the nail but it’s probably due to the puppy not the light. The built in grinder allows us to keep her nails trim.

I have 2 dogs, large dog doesn't mind getting nails done. Clippers worked well on his thick nails and the grinder finished them off nicely. Small dog doesn't like you to touch his feet so I used the grinder, worked better than trying to clip. After 2 or 3 nails he relaxed somewhat and I was able to get them shorter than I expected. What works well is cut is made in smooth fashion that my dogs barely notice (3 dogs ranging from 13-18 pounds). No frayed nail ends. Light works well assisting in making a safe cut.
