Description

The CozyUp Folding Pet Steps help protect your pets joints and gives them a boost if they can't reach the couch or bed on their own. Lending a helping hand to your pet, big or small, protects their back and joints from the impact of jumping on and off furniture. These pet steps have fabric treads, siderails and nonskid feet so even your most nervous pets can confidently walk up and down without fear of sliding or wobbling. The fabric treads are replaceable, so if they start looking a little well-loved, simply purchase additional fabric or high-traction treads. Conveniently store the pet steps between snuggle sessions by folding them flat and sliding them under your bed or couch.

  • Wonderful Product!
Size: Sofa - 20 Inches Tall Color: Tan
I have 5 dogs- 3 Chihuahuas, a Golden Retriever and an American Eskimo Dog. One of my Chi's-Matisse-age 5 months ran up these stairs the second I put it down. I didn't need to coax him at all. He spends a good part of the day just running up to my bed and down again. He has turned it into a game. Matisse weighs 6 pounds. One of my other Chi's- Rocky - is 2 years old and had to be coaxed up with treats. He hasn't any problem going up but always jumps off the bed rather than going down the stairs. Rocky weighs 7.2 pounds. And last (but of course not least) my 13 year old Chihuahua-Shelby-has been running up a very steep and long staircase since she was very young and she showed me exactly once that she can go up and down these stairs with no problem but that she would rather be picked up and put on the bed. This isn't a reflection on the stairs in question but rather the fact that Shelby and I have always made a game out of her getting on and off my bed and she would rather continue the game. Shelby hates any kind of flooring that doesn't feel rock solid which mean these stairs are NOT flimsy. Shelby weighs 5 pounds. My Golden- Blaze - put his front paws up on the third step the other night and did a back stretch, then backed off and nothing happened to the stairs, they held fine.(but I certainly wouldn't encourage this with big dogs) Blaze weighs 60 pounds. My Eski-Nemo-likes to try and run under the stairs and in doing so has knocked the stairs over...again NOT the fault of the product but a testament to how good they are because the stairs were perfectly fine. (I did however put a stop to Nemo's behavior.) The stairs are a snap to put together... A few hints. 1. If your dog's nails are too long your dog is going to have trouble going up stairs, not just these stairs but any stairs especially if you have a taller than average bed where the dog has to make a small leap onto your bed from the last step. 2. This might sound a little weird but...if you have satin sheets your dog can slide off as he makes the final step onto your bed...trust me. 3. Make sure that your sheets/bedspread are not covering any part of the stairs or again your dog can fall off...and once again, not the fault of the stairs. 4. Make sure you put the stairs flush up to your bed/couch and check it once a day, someone could have accidentally kicked it or moved it without you knowing, in which case your dog could get his paw caught between the top step and the bed/couch and fall off. 4. BE PATIENT WITH YOUR DOG AND MAKE IT FUN even if it takes your dog a very long time to learn how to use these stairs. Don't force your dog up or down the stairs to teach him, that will only scare him more. Try luring him with treats and LOTS of praise and keep the stair training session to 5 minutes or even less. 5. Some folks wrote that they put the stairs sideways against their beds so that it would take up less space-if that works for their dog that's great but I found that my dogs didn't like it at all because it forced them to turn their bodies and jump sideways. My personal opinion is that it's not as safe when it's sideways because the top step has nothing to lean on which in turn makes the entire thing unstable and able to tip. And I guess that's about it...oh I forgot, the steps come with some stick ons for traction...they work perfectly. I used to spend half my day putting my Chi's on the bed, off the bed, on the bed etc. which was a giant pain...A REAL giant pain because I broke my back years ago...Now my back actually hurts a little less. I just love these stairs! ... show more

  • Very sturdy considering it's foldable & very light
Size: Sofa - 20 Inches Tall Color: Tan
I bought this for my two Poodle/Shiu Tzu 20-25 lb. pets to climb onto the very tall family member's bed. Naturally, I had to put their paws on it step by step a few times to get them used to it. One was only slightly afraid of it at first & still goes slowly up it, but now he only needs a single simple verbal prodding (he tends to be lazy & want to be picked up.) He uses it to go down as well as he has shorter legs & the jump down must bother him enough to use it. The one who was terrified at first, she now races up it like it's nothing, but has longer, springy legs & does not need it to jump off. It feels like it's barely a pound in weight & does move easily when pushed by a human, the leverage is great & center of gravity is nice & low to keep it stable. It comes w/eight carpet-like sticky treads you see, four for now & four for future replacement. The "button" to lock it in place & push to close/fold is more a cheap latch that's part of the structure that sticks out. It says locked & you have to press very hard to close/fold it again. For the price & convenience of something foldable & lightweight, it's great. Edit: it's January '09 & still working fine, though we have never folded it. It is on a wood floor & will scoot a little when he would literally leap from the 2nd step instead of going all the way up, but does not with a small hop from the top. He still doesn't want to use it, but it's more that he likes being picked up/spoiled then mistrust. He goes up it when told to on his own totally, slow & most times now he just takes a big step to get on the bed from the top. ... show more

  • Great quality, good for small dogs
Size: Sofa - 20 Inches Tall Color: Gray
My 12 & 13.5 yr old dogs weigh about 26lbs & 30lbs. They will not use these steps. I thought they would be helpful for them to use rather than jumping up and down from our bed. I tried to train them to use the steps using tons of positive energy couragement and treats to nearly no avail. The smaller, 25lb dog did go up and down the steps twice, but only with lots of treats and encouragement. My slightly larger, 30 lb dog found the stairs to be way too unstable for him and he shook the stairs considerably with his nervousness and absolutely refused to try moving on the very shaky steps. My 15 lb, fat, 15 yr old, very lame cat uses the stairs everyday and needed no training or coaxing whatsoever! I do like that the stairs have little pressed boards which slide into sleeves on each step to make the steps more sturdy. These steps are probably only good for pets about 20lbs or less, or ones who are much more courageous than ours. The width of these steps really needs to be much wider for them to be more stable for heavier pets; like twice as wide as they currently are. They are so narrow they just aren't stable for even my 25 lb dog. They arrive vacuum sealed and immensely compressed. The stairs very quickly expand to their full size, but will be very wrinkled for a couple days. I have attached some photos. ... show more

  • Great product, I bought a second one
Size: Sofa - 20 Inches Tall Color: Tan
I'm very pleased with this product, it greatly exceeded my expectations. I have a small little shih tzu, about 15lbs. He's 10 years old and because of his older age he can no longer jump up onto beds anymore. He tries to jump onto the bed and then stands by the bed crying for me to pick him up, it's the saddest little thing. These steps are awesome and completely fixed that problem. My dog's so happy he can be more independent and come and go as he pleases by himself again. It's a nice looking product and I would have no problem leaving them out in the living room or when company comes over. They feel sturdy and stable. I'm not afraid they're going to collapse at any moment and my dog is comfortable using them. They come with little sticker grip pads for each step which makes it easier for him to use. The height is just fine and fits up against the side of my bed nicely, and my dog has no problems getting onto the bed from them. However, it is a tight fit so if that's a concern for you at all then I recommend measuring the height of the steps up against the height of your bed. The price of these steps is one of it's key features and I really don't think you'll find anything better in the same price range. These stairs compare more to others in a higher price range and blow most of the cheaper ones away, so I definitely recommend this product as a great value for your money. I've ordered a second one to use in the other bedroom. Extra perk: These stairs are made in AMERICA. Note about other pet stairs: I bought my dog another pet stairs before these and I really, truly, honestly would not recommend them to anyone. I won't name exactly which ones they are but... they're sold on Amazon and are smaller and cheaper than these stairs. I was disappointed with them right out of the box and disliked them for several different reasons. They were short, cheaply made, and unstable. They would wobble constantly and the plastic "base" of the steps partially collapsed a couple times. They're advertised to support around 60 lbs but it was a real stretch for my little guy. The entire product is just a flimsy snap in plastic base with a removable fabric cover. Do NOT waste your hard earned money on those steps! I wish I would have just paid the extra little amount of money for these stairs in the first place. You get what you pay for and it's definitely worth it to pay a little bit more for these. ... show more

  • Great design but not the best material
Size: Sofa - 20 Inches Tall Color: Tan
I was really hoping these would work, with the best seller rating and all the good comments, and the price especially. But, I think you get what you pay for most of the time and these are no exception to that rule. They are made of plastic, so no matter what, are not gonna be the sturdiest of choices. I do like that they fold easily to store under the bed, but the first time I did that and brought them back out for use, I thought they had to "latch" back into place (they don't, you just pull the arm back out so it's fully extended.) I pulled and the whole arm came unsnapped and the big brown plastic screw holding it together almost snapped off in pieces which would have made the stairs useless entirely. Also there are 4 small round clear sticky rubber things that go on the bottom of each leg touching the floor. By day 3 they had all but 1 came off and I only could find 1 so pretty sure my puppy ate them....not cool. I have 2 cocker spaniels and a new higher bed than before and they sleep with me. My puppy is a yr old and weighs 25 lbs. He has no trouble making the jump up or down, but my 8 yr old, who is a bit short and stout anyway (he weighs 35lbs) is also timid and suspicious of anything "new" and cannot make the jump up and was circling the bed frantically, wanting to be with mama. So these were for him. The first few days he wasn't having any of it....no way no how! He ran from me even when I tried to show him how cool they were! Finally, I stopped giving him a lift myself and his need to be with mama on the bed (and brother who was snuggling comfortably up there already...) outweighed his fear of the "new and scarey" and he decided to use them....now, a week in, he is snoring happily on mamas new bed and using the stairs like a pro....altho they are really, really rickedy sounding when he uses them....he almost runs up them, like if he does it real fast they won't bite him or something....I love the idea and the design, but the materials, not so much. The same company makes wooden steps that look a lot more secure and I think he and I both would be more comfortable with those. I will most likely order the wooden ones to replace these very soon. They did come very fast and were packaged appropriately. Maybe for toy dogs or small breeds like a Pomeranian, these would be great, but if your dog is toward the upper end of the weight limit on this size, I would go the next size up, or go with the wooden design for sturdiness and if cheap plastic is not your thing, definitely spring the extra money for the wooden ones, wish I had! Giving this a 3 stars, because they do work and store nicely, but the materials are not great (almost broke when I tried to extend back out and little rubber circles fall off bottom of legs and dogs (or children) can swallow) and don't seem sturdy enough when dog uses them. Hope this is helpful to someone! ... show more

  • Best Stairs we have purchased. Love them so much we got 4 of them
Size: Sofa - 20 Inches Tall Color: Tan
Love these pet stairs very much!!! Love them so much that I bought 4 of them for several rooms in our house. The quality is wonderful, they are very sturdy and have held up really well. These stairs will last many years to come because they are a hard plastic and do not easily fall apart or break. We purchased steps like these from our local pet store numerous years ago and they lasted for about 5 years until the padding starting to discolor and could no longer be cleaned. Then I saw these pet stairs on Amazon and because the price was perfect I decided to buy 4 of them. At our local pet store I paid for one what I paid for 4, so the deal is really awesome. These pet stairs are so easy to assemble, you just need to attach the back portion with two clicks in the right position and then tape on the paw pads and you are all done. Just place it near the couch or bed or any place where you want you pet to get and down easily. It is also very easy to store away, you just fold it together and can store it in a closet, under your bed or behind the couch. Also, it is light enough to carry to another room if you wanted too. I have purchased another pet stairs throughout the years, the kind that you have to put together and then put the fabric on top and that was a complete waste of money and time. They usually were so difficult to put together that it was just frustrating and the fabric did not hold up well. In the end they somehow managed to break. But once I found steps like these, I don't think nothing else could compare. I would recommend these steps to any pet owner that would like to purchase this item. This is something both you and your pet will love and it will last a long time. My aunt came to visit and fell in love with these stairs and also bought them. ... show more

It did come broken but its being used for a chihuahua so not to worried about it not supporting his weight. While I dont want to deal with a return I am quite sad it came broken.
