I had the same pad without the app so I purchased this one thinking that I could control it turn it off on higher or lower from wherever I had a Wi-Fi connection but unfortunately it does not work that way. If I am about 10 feet away from the heating pad the app works properly and I can control it if I go into the back room it disconnects and tells me it’s off-line even though I am still connected to wifi. I could just leave it on for 24 hours but I thought that this would be a better alternative. Overall it is an excellent pad, nice soft cover and my stray cat out on my front porch loves it in the cold weather and I feel better knowing that she has it to use but it does not do what I expected it to do. Just got my two heat pads today and put them on the outside cats beds. Ones loves it lots the other likes it but has to adjust to it some more Will have to get used to unplugging them each day since it states to unplug them when not in use

I bought this for my parents stray cats that have to ensure the cool northeastern winter. They placed this is the barn for the cats and they love it. They are able to stay warm and sometimes don't even want to leave the barn while this is on. Highly recommend.

My only concern is that I do not know how long this will last. I bought 2 last year for feral cats that we feed. One had to be replaced within a few months. I hope they last more than a season. They have a removeable washable cover that is water resistant. They do not get very hot, but it must be enough to warm their tummies as I put these in travel crates and covered the air holes with heavy rugs and towels to keep the wind and cold out. The crates are also in a protected area on our back porch near an electrical outlet. We don't get very cold most of the time, but when we did, both cats climbed into the crates. ... show more
