  • Great for sensitive skin
Update: after using this serum religiously morning and night on both my face and neck for 2.5 months, I did notice my skin tone looks more even and brighter. I didn’t notice any lightening of my hyperpigmentation after 2.5 months of use. I used 3 pumps to cover my whole face and neck. So I ended up burning through 2 bottles of this vitamin C serum and that’s over $200. But I guess if I get it when it’s on sale, it’s not so bad. Since I’m a skin care junky, I’m gonna try the Medik8 super C serum with 30% of ethyl ascorbic acid to see if that still better than the PTR brand. I will continue to purchase the PTR vitamin C serum for sure. Will provide more updates in the future Original review: This vitamin C is formulated with THD ascorbate which is one of the more potent and stabilized form of vitamin C. I tried so many different types of vitamin c, Cerave, Skin Ceuticals, Glow Recipe, Mad Hippie, 100 percent pure, L’Oréal, Neutrogena, No7 capsules, Drunk Elephant. All of them either burned my skin and caused rash from the L-ascorbic acid formulations, or they are not potent enough for me to see any differences. The only vitamin c that’s comparable to this one is the Revision THD 30% which is about $35 more than the Peter Thomas Roth brand. While I do love the higher % from the Revision and it does not cause any irritations with much faster results, the Revision brand’s new packaging is so horrible and I’m not able to get every drop of the products out from the horrible tube design. Also I think the tapioca starch inside of the Revision brand causes it to pill if you try to layer it with other products. I love the PTR brand because the packaging is much easier to dispense every drop of the product. It also doesn’t pills and layers well with other products. No artificial fragrances. It does have a natural vitamin C smell and it smells like iron rust. It’s a creamy lotion like consistency like the Revision brand I love with cheaper price tag. The only down side is you see good results but not as fast as the Revision brand since it’s the 20% concentration. The other one I tried was the Herbivore Vitamin C serum that has 15% THD ascorbate. I would say this one is a pas for me because not only the concentration is lower, also the tumeric power comes off quite strong for me when you first apply it on your face. Also the bottle is transparent not blocking off the light (I’m just being OCD at protecting my vitamin C serum). This one is definitely worth the splurge if you wanna invest in a good vitamin C serum. Plus you don’t ever have to worry about the messy liquid dropper, oxidation and burning issues from the L ascorbic acid formulation. ... show more

  • I notice improvement
So I’ve purchased the Peter Thom’s Roth Potent C Power Serum twice now and love the results I see in my mirror, even skin tone for the win. It’s not drying and plays well with other products, the scent was much more noticeable on my second purchase though. As much as I love the product I don’t think I can justify the price as is the case with many skincare products lately, it’s just over the top. ... show more

  • Worth it
This stuff is so potent and luxurious on the skin. I am not fond of the price tag but it really is worth it. You can see the difference it makes, which has made it part of my daily routine.

  • Expensive
I can't convince myself this is worth the $$$. At 1 pump per day, the bottle will last around 4 months. But it has a weird smell that doesn't sit quite right with me. I will finish the bottle but it's highly unlikely I would repurchase it again. I will likely return to my previous Vitamin C pictured. ... show more

  • Works as well as the reviews say
This was the first Peter Thomas Roth product that I had bought. Even though a lot of reviews said it's basically magical, I wasn't expecting such dramatic results. I initially used it to smooth out necklines, and only for a few days. It's been almost a year, and the lines I used it on are still smooth. After that, I started using it on my face on daily basis. I put it on under my sunscreen. Now, I also use the 24-Karat Gold Hydra-Gel Eye Patches and the Instant Firm Temporary Face Tightener. ... show more

  • Horrible Smell
I too purchased due to the escalating cost of the premium medical grade brands on a recommendation from a dermatologist. This is the most foul smelling product for the skin I have ever smelled. Perhaps I received a spoiled bottle not stored properly. I have no idea but I returned it. I put it on my face thinking the smell would go away in a moment like other vitamin c with Ferulic in it. After 5 minutes I had to wash my face and start over. I could not stand the smell any longer. I asked my husband if he could smell it and he said it smelled like something rancid. There are many great vitamin c products and I have moved on. ... show more

  • It's quite sticky
I live in a tropical country, I wish there was a lighter formula. Its redeeming quality is stability, I stuck with it because it does not oxidize as fast as the 90% of vit c serums I tried in the market.
