I was pretty skeptical of this toy. I genuinely didn't expect my cat to want to play with it on its own automatic movement setting. I bought it because I was going to just play with the dangly "tail" parts. She loves things of that texture! It's kind of rubbery and it flips around like crazy when you jiggle it. However, I was surprised to find that when I turned on the toy, she was VERY interested. It's fairly quiet, but quieter toys have spooked her before, so I was worried about the noise... but she didn't even seem to notice it. Now, if I turn on the toy and she hears its motor going, she'll come running to get her pounce on! She loves this thing! The automatic shut off is handy, but I was disappointed to find that the battery only supports a couple of runs. You pretty much have to charge it daily if you use it daily. Still, Kitty enjoys playing with it whether or not it's turned on. Sometimes she just chews on it for fun. In the month or so I've had it, she's done no damage to it whatsoever... which is surprising, considering how rough she is with the toy and how hard she chomps down on that rubber tail! I expected to have to replace that within a week, but it's still in perfect shape despite the abuse. Overall, I think that was money well spent, an inexpensive and durable toy that my kitty really enjoys no matter how many times in a row she's played with it!

First off all, my cat loves this toy. Although, it did take her a few days to warm up to it because it spins pretty aggressively and makes loud noises on hard surfaces. The silicone tail will whip her in the face but it doesn’t hurt. Pet Cronies had reached out to me after several people stated that their cats were biting and ingesting the silicone - my cat included. So, they offered their new plushy tail for grátis! The plush tail is heavier so the toy isn’t able to spin very well, but I feel much more at ease to leave my cat alone with this toy and not have to supervise her play the whole time. She really likes the plush tail as well. Their customer service was superb and much appreciated!

Of all his many toys, my playful, 20 pound mini panther, LOVES his automatic cat wand the best. The mechanical wand, that looks like a long, pink opossum's tail, easily flits and turns on rug or wood surfaces engaging his predatory chasing instincts. Even when the wand's time runs out, he lays down in front of it, patiently waiting for it to come back to life (by my pushing the button) or he picks it up by the tail and carries the wand with him wherever he goes. In spite of his girth and strong bite, he has not bitten off any of the length of the "tail" or even implanted any tooth marks in it. With the extra "tail" that's included and the ease of recharging the toy, I'm certain my cat will be enjoying his favorite toy for a long time.

The only problem with this toy (like many similar) is it is too loud on hard surfaces. The movement is great...very much like a wild snake. The problem is, a lot of cats are scared of by loud noises. I put this on a blanket and now my cat can't get enough of it. The blanket restricts some of its movement so that is a slight problem. If this had a plush/Furry coating it would be prefect but until /if they improve it, I'll just keep it on the blanket for her to play with It has been a couple of months since I figured it out that this toy is great in a blanket. My cat (who is easily freaked out by loud noises) absolutely loves this toy as long as it's on the blanket (noise suppression). On any hard surface she runs from it but on the blanket this is the toy that she had played with consistently for the longest. Please update the design to have more padding for noise suppression and maybe a gyroscope to help it stay in generally 1 place. Still 4 stars until/if it gets updated by definitely worth the purchase of you have a bored cat that is timid of most automated toys.

The media could not be loaded. I have a young torti full of energy. We keep some toys on 'Violette's shelf' in the linen closet to rotate. She loves this so much she goes to the closet and asks for it! We have several toys in this style that spin various lures for her to swat, pounce on...whether I'm holding it & wiggling it or it's on the floor spinning & wiggling both, she's into it. I am very pleased that it's rechargeable! Violette is a chewer. Especially things made from the type of flexible soft material cell phone cords are. The wiggly strip feels like the same material. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is she chewed off about 4½" in the first hour. Because I'm concerned about her biting a bit off & trying to swallow it, I don't let her play with it unsupervised. Fortunately, it comes with 2 of the soft ribbon-like pieces.

My cat doesn’t like to play much, but this toy peaked his interest. A few things: If you have females in your house and have long hair, note that you’ll need to clean out the space between the tail and the machine. Just pull the hair out. It’ll last longer. The other thing to note is that when it’s fully charged, it’s really strong, so timid cats may play with this more on a low charge. The silicone tail seems to be holding up, but it does pick up anything on the floor so be aware of where you set it. I like that my cat can “hunt” this toy and I like that it turns off automatically. Note that it has a short battery life - you’ll be charging it after 4-5 goes.

Of course we have all purchased many things we thought would be liked, but for my cat this is the be-all-end-all. He loves it. He loves it to the degree that even when I put his food in his dish he would rather be playing. The only, I mean only, drawback is that he has learned he needs me to keep it going, and at 2:00am when I hear his plaintive mewing while sitting next to my bed with the toy, I just can't resist turning it on for him. Great toy!

The only thing I did not like is it show up and of the tail too fast. Anyway they did put it extra tail in it. What it will be good anyway, if that will be off again very fast anyway?
