This is the only toy my 11 year old Shiba Inu has ever played with in her life. She keeps chewing them into a filthy mess and I keep buying new ones and telling her I washed them. She hasn't called me on it yet so I think we're probably at the point where most 11 year old are: they don't believe in Santa but they put on an act for mom so she'll keep buying the good presents.     • The Chittering sound dies after only five minutes with my old Pug with missing teeth

I used to love this toy, and the chittering sound drove my little Pug crazy in a good way. I've bought ten of them but I will never buy another. The first one, the little speaker lasted about three months before the speaker died. So, toys break, big deal, and I bought a new one. But then they started dying faster and faster, until the most recent one died after not even five minutes of play, and was clearly not working well as soon as I took it out of the packaging. I'm not a cynical person, but it seems clear that the manufacturers know that people will buy a new one when the old one dies, so they are have taken planned obsolescence to a whole new level to ensure people keep buying the toy over and over again at an ever-faster clip. Toys wear out, of course they do, but this is just plain dishonest. Pug dogs are a toy breed, and my little guy is missing seven teeth, and this toy didn't last for even five minutes of play before the sound gave out, and the sound is what he loves about the toy. Oh, and they've gotten more expensive, too. Shame on them. ... show more

I bought this for her 2 years ago and I have purchased 2 new identical hedgehog toys for her, but she only wants her dirty, bedraggled "Hedgie" and ignores the new ones. It's the first thing she grabs when she wakes up in the morning and her best friend to share with me to throw. Even though it's sorta pitiful looking, it has held together and still makes noise.
