Starts feeding this outdoor kitty. He pretty much lives on my porch now. Can’t bring him in just yet but in the meantime wanted something nice for him to have shelter from rain. Says rainproof.. not sure about the material but I think it can do the job for now. Also a little flimsy but nothing so piping to keep it up and erect can’t fix. Easy assembly. Overall happy with the purchase. Large would be more than a great size for an average adult cat about 8-10 lbs or more.. or maybe like a small teacup puppy. Large was smaller than expected. Shipping was lightening speed.

I got this large cat house and the 16"x16" Clawsable Outdoor Pet Heating Pad to put in it. It all fits amazingly and it is a warm place for my outside feral cat. My inside kitty got out somehow and spent the night outside. The next morning when I went out, I found him looking through the plastic door at me. I was surprised to see him outside and so very happy I had gotten this just in time to give him a safe and warm place to spend the cooler night outside. This is an amazing setup and I know our outside feral kitty will love it as the nights start cooling down. He refuses to come inside, but now he has his own warm snuggly home. I did trim the plastic door at the bottom a bit so it would swing freely instead of getting caught on the bottom of the door frame. I have this set up on my front porch that has a roof over it, so I know it will be out of the wind and it will stay dry, even though it does say it's waterproof. I really like this set up and am excited for my beautiful outside buddy to have a cozy home in the cooler weather.

I love this little house for my outside stray cats. My sweet Charlie that I ended up bringing inside used it faithfully day and night. This was his little house and was perfect for him. Now I have a momma and 5 kittens that use it. I have it on my porch. Helps them stay dry when it rains.

Last year I ordered several of the large cat houses for my cat community. These are NOT good cat houses to keep you cats warm and dry for outside uncovered areas. The rain saturates the houses from top to bottom. The inside is completely saturated with water and wet all throughout. So they are not a good solution for feral cats or pets who live outside to keep them warm and dry during the winter or during rain showers or storms. The kitties love the large cat houses when the houses are dry. The cat houses ARE a good solution to keep the feral kitties warm during winter months if the cat house is COVERED WHERE THE RAIN CANNOT REACH IT. I also have the medium cat houses, and they are placed under a roof. The cats do not seem to like the medium cat houses as much as they like the large cat houses. The LARGE cat houses are perfect for the outside kitties if the house can be placed under a shelter where they can stay dry. Hope this helps.

So I’ve been feeding my neighbors cat for several years and he just adopted us. We let him in and out on his terms. We recently adopted a dog so Tiger is afraid to come in now but still hangs around. We decided to buy this cat house and he loves it. Went in the first day I put it out on our porch. It is definitely water proof. We had several blowing rains and inside kept dry. It comes with a clear plastic cover to put across the door but we didn’t use because he likes to look out. Added some extra warm cushion now that it has gotten much cooler.
