it is soft and warm no way to turn off unless you unplug it. Going to use a timer so it is on at night when it gets colder will leave on more. i had it on my lap and hope my little girl uses it and stays warm. I cannot bring her in due to my dog but i am working on it

This thing is awesome. Doesn't have a timer, plugs in, not temperature adjustable but has a thermastat. If you feel like it's too warm, you can put a blanket over it. For what we needed it for, it was perfect. We had an old dog that was slowly going from cancer, this kept her warm and comfortable. Quick ship, great quality, definitely recommend. Thank you.

Good size for the little house i made out of a tote for stray cats. Could have a longer cord but good design so it can't get damaged. Warms it pretty well until it drops below 35 or 40 degrees. Wish it got warmer but you get what u pay for I suppose.

Doesn't feel very warm... I need it for my outside dogs (during the winter) & 2 help with arthritis. =( I don't like how there's no way of knowing what the exact temperature is. :-/ I didn't realize there is no temperature or timer adjustment. =( I'm sending it back! It has a nice soft pad. But I think that takes away/absorbs a lot of the heat. =( Using a temperature heat gun: Outside of covered pad (what the animals will feel) : 80 degree's. =( (that's not even human body temperature. =( ) Inside of the cover - directly on the pad: 100 - 110 degree's (it keeps fluctuating.) Plus I have to put it inside my dog bed - so my dogs don't rip it up & wrinkle it up, while trying to get comfortable - & hardly any heat manages to get through the cover of the heating pad & the heavy duty, anti-rip dog bed cover. =(
