I bought the Excursion stroller to transport my 14 year old, 27 pound chihuahua/box mix through the airport. She is too heavy for me to carry and I don't want her walking as much as it takes to get to your gate in the international airports. I didn't want to get something too heavy or difficult to deal with while also having to deal with a suitcase and carryon. This stroller is perfect! It steers and maneuvers very smoothly and easily. It is light enough to fold up and take in and out of the car, yet so very sturdy. It rolls super smoothly. It was extremely easy to put together - no tools necessary and took about 2 minutes. And it is very quick and simple to open up and fold down - way easier than my grandson's stroller. I used the measurements that they listed and my doggie fits perfectly. The best part was that when my flight was delayed til midnite, my doggie was able to lay down in her stroller and sleep peacefully without being disturbed. I have only used the back door for her to get in and out. When I first got it, I was concerned that she wouldn't like it. So I introduced her to it with a treat so that she would like it. I opened the back door and tossed a treat in the the very front. She walked right in for it and I shut the door behind her and then gave her another treat. I think it helped a lot that I let her walk in on her own free will rather than me putting her in there. When we are flying, I get a stroller tag for it and use a bungee cord to keep it folded before I put it in a stroller bag and leave it on the ramp. Absolutely love it! ... show more

I bought this stroller for my disabled large cat, so my needs were a little different than a dog owner's. I wanted a very secure enclosure with a large enough space for her to lie down while still being able to see. Review points: - Ample floor space for her to stretch out and good visibility for pet lying down. - Pet space is close to the ground, so I don't have to lift her very far and she's able to climb out without help - While the enclosure slopes down a little at the front, it's not a dealbreaker for her head height. - Accordian style canopy is great for lifting in a pet. However, it does not stay 100% open without help. Also, when closing it you have to be sure you're not squashing a pet body part. - Large hinged panel in back is also great for access to pet space. - Top zippered mesh "hatch" lets you reach in (if your arms are long enough) - Bottom of pet space is supported by particle board inserted below pet compartment (good) - Wheels are thin hard plastic, which wouldn't be best in rough rocky conditions (ok) - Stroller is steady and feels well-made - Possible problem: I think the front canopy clasp will be what breaks first. It holds the canopy very tightly and is under some strain to hold it taut. The push button clasp is plastic and you have to push it firmly. I'm packing some zip ties in the stroller in case this ever breaks at a bad time. - Possible problem: I think the leash clips feel flimsy. I think I'd replace them with stronger clips but with a cat I'm not using them much. So, this is working well for my purposes. I reviewed a lot of strollers and came to the conclusion this price was acceptable for what the stroller offered. No stroller is perfect in every way and this one offers a lot with minimum problems. ... show more

My senior mother wanted to take her crazy Frenchie out for sunshine and air but he goes cuckoo if he sees other pets, he's heavy for a short thing and hard for her to lift or handle, he has spine problems so my mom 'lifting him' in and out of a stroller or cart was never gonna work safely for either of them. This PetGear Excursion is AMAZING. It all snaps firmly to keep him enclosed so when he goes nuts, he can't get out. I do have her keep a squirt bottle in the cup holder to redirect his focus when it does happen but the mesh is thick and has a plastic coating over the fabric mesh so it is pretty sturdy and so far does not appear that a few jumps and nails on it has any effect. The snap open/close rear door is wonderful. With a like 4" step into it, the dog easily gets in so neither he or my senior mom need to hurt their backs. The safety leash/hook inside is perfect so even if she lost control of him getting in or out.... he is still hooked to the cart and can't get away. He is enjoying watching and sniffing the world outdoors now as he and my mom have pretty much been indoor recluses for 4 years. The double cup holder and closing compartment are perfect for her keys or garage opener, her water and his h20 bottle. The adjustable handle angles and soft foam grip are perfect to adjust for different heights and comforts. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Great value. ... show more

I purchased this for my 11 year old Cocker Spaniel mix who is starting to slow down a bit. He is 30 lbs, and while he easily fits into the stroller I can't imagine a 100 lb dog fitting comfortably. I just got it the other day and was thrilled at how easy it was to assemble. I love the opening in the back for my dog to step into (I lured him in with a treat), and the "sunroof" like opening on the top. I didn't want to have to pick him up & put him in a stroller, so this design works well for me. I do wish that the stroller top was split so I could just pull back the top portion (like a canopy) and still have sides around him. There are plenty on the market like that, but not with the 'back door' opening for a dog to step into (at least that I was able to find). The wheels are large and roll well, and there is a brake by the back wheels. I had it outside for the first time today and was relieved that my dog was relaxed in it. I was very impressed with the design and excellent quality of this item. Very sturdy, very easy to assemble, fold and unfold, and load your dog. Because the description said that it would fit dogs up to 100 pounds, I did not check the measurements. My dog is only 40 pounds but she has a long body and relatively short legs. She could sit but not lay down in the stroller but when sitting, her head could not poke out of the top of the stroller. Her body is too long - the depth of the stroller was not long enough to allow her to lay down. She also did not seem to like not being able to have her head outside the stroller. (She is not a kennel trained dog). Given her arthritis, I wanted a stroller that she could lay down in so this did not fit her. My smaller 15 pound dog, who loves being in his kennel, loved the stroller but he is younger and doesn't need a stroller. Unfortunately this product did not fit my older arthritic dog so I had to return it. Suggest taking measurements before ordering. ... show more

My Lola LOVES her puppy cruiser. She’s got a lot of breathing and body temp regulation issues but loves being outside. The Pet Gear Expedition was a great purchase. We bring it with us on all our long walks. It was easy to assemble, has great maneuverability and for such a big carrier it’s surprisingly lighter than expected. My only complaint is the cup holder attachment could be sturdier. But everything else on the carrier is well made and well designed. I love the closures and the front and rear wheel locks. It’s the perfect size for my 25 pound French Bulldog. It says it will hold larger dogs but if you want your dog to have a little wiggle room I would get the bigger model for a dog over 40 pounds. We highly recommend this dog cruiser. 100% Lola approved ! ... show more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. My 12 year old rat terrier sometimes doesn’t want to walk down to the grassy dog park (which is a luxury in the Sierras, since we don’t have a lot of grass), so i got this cart, hoping it would make the trek easier for her. Once she was trained to jump in (through a treat reward system—i’d give her a small treat each time she jumped in—just make sure the beak is on!), getting her from point a to b was easy. Plus, sometimes her arthritis will cause a limp, or her paws get sore from hyperkeratosis, so now I don’t need to carry her back to the house in those rare instances. I like that the cart is low to the ground so she can hop in...she doesn’t like to be picked up, so with this product, we can avoid that. Plus, I like that it doesn’t look like a baby stroller (she’s definitely my babe, but I don’t want to walk her in something that looks like a baby stroller). It was very easy to assemble, (the wheels just clipped on, and i didnt even need the directions,) and it has cupholders, and a small storage space for phone and keys and treats and poop bags. I wish the storage was bigger but i put her leash in the cart with her and there is plenty of room. It also changes directions very easily. Also — there is a back door, by the handles, and i can also lift up the entire front section, which is sometimes nice. I only wish two things 1) that it were sturdier, with rubber wheels instead of plastic (like those wagons everyone uses nowadays), and more solid—not so much for my dog, but for me. I accidentally bumped the cup holder from the bottom and it fell off...it went back on no problem, but still. In Tahoe sometimes we are on dirt or bark trails that go down to the lake or dog park, and i feel like I am damaging the cart wheels in some way on that terrain. But on pavement it’s PERFECT. I would get this product again in a heartbeat. 2) The only other thing i wish were different was that i could collapse it to save space when not in use. I don’t have a lot of space, so that would also make this product even better. That said, i still love this thing (because my dog loves it and it’s easy to use) and highly recommend if your dog has health issues, like arthritis, or just doesn’t want to walk a far distance to get to your destination. Very easy to assemble as I put it together in 4 minutes. it folds easy, the wheels have 360 degree movement, the door in the back is perfect to get the dogs in and out of. There is a cup holder and the arm rest moves to adjust to your height. This is very well made and thoughtfully designed!! I have 2 boston terriers - 18 lbs and 15 lbs and they both fit with room to spare. This stroller will be perfect for any eluding in the near future! A+ ... show more
