I bought this personal safety alarm for my niece. She does get off work late at night and this portable alarm can be really handy. It is lightweight and really handy, you can carry it around. It is really easy to use, just pull out the pin and the loud sound will start, and to turn it off you just have to put the pin back. The pin is attached so there is no need to worry of losing it. The light that goes with the alarm also works really great. You can put it in your pocket for an easy access in case of emergency, you dont need to dig in your bag. I do recommend this for everyone who walks alone at night. The sound it make is really loud that can catch the attention of everyone nearby easily. The price is affordable.

Being the organizer and leader of a large social bicycle club here in Fort Lauderdale with over 1650 members and growing daily, the safety, health and well-being of our riders is always priority one. The same goes for our mounts as well. It is discussed before every slow roll. And one thing all my members know about me is that I love customization and personalization. And if it serves both safety and customization then roll on I say! My local bike shop could tell you how much they make from our patronage. And not just for technical stuff but for lots of other fun stuff as well, gadgets, toys and accessories are always welcome. I like to gift away some small safety item to our new members at the beginning of each slow roll, most often it will be a safety whistle to wear while riding. Sometimes the gifting goes to another level. It might be a lighting kit, a set of pedals or grips, locking kits, occasionally even a pair of gloves or a helmet. I encourage my members to keep their mounts very well maintained in order to not get left behind (in reality we would never let anyone get left behind). Anything that keeps you out of danger and improves the experience of riding is for us. I was at first very surprised, or disappointed, in what I actually received in comparison to what I was expecting. This MTMINN Personal Safety Alarm is tiny. I would say smaller than a CO2 cartridge you would use for pumping up your tires. Why do the adverts rarely match up with what the item actually turns out to be? But, OK. Let's give this a shot. Once unboxed it barely fills your palm. It is very smooth, slippery. Hope that does not turn out to be an issue. Don't want the user to be dropping it all the time. Or you could use the keyring clip-but we'll get back to that. So I am squeezing and pushing and poking at this thing not knowing why I cannot get this thing to work. I open up the battery case and all is ok. I become disgruntled. It is only then that I do the right thing and look up the instructions. Why not do that in the first place? I don't know, maybe because I'm a regular guy? Anyway...you need to pull out the keyring connector and presto! Way too small to be so very loud! Deafening! Blasting! Certainly attention getting! Not sure what the blindingly bright flasher on the body is for other than confusing the attacker? Maybe temporarily blinding the attacker? I don't know but it's an additional feature that seems to work well. I think it would make an awesome addition to my honeys key ring or walking pack. She hates the alarm sound but if she ever needs it...Anyway, a very large impression from a very diminutive safety item. And as always remember: Ride Safe, Ride Strong, Ride Happy!!

I had never thought about getting a personal alarm until a friend told me about hers and how effective it is, so I got this Personal Safety Alarm for Women by McMinn (130dB Self Defense Keychains) for my mom to carry on her daily walks. This is the kind of item that you hope to never need, but it's a little peace of mind to have in case of personal injury or danger risk. I chose this model because it uses 2 CR2032 batteries which are very easy to replace when the time comes. This model comes with two batteries already installed. I tested the device while wearing earplugs and muffling the sound in a pillow because it is very loud. The flashing light also worked effectively. To operate, you simply pull out the pin that is connected to the keychain fob, and you replace the pin to stop the sound and light. It is easy to do, but it feels pretty secure when not in use so I don't think that a person would easily activate it by accident. This device is lightweight but seems well made. It can easily slip into a pocket or purse. You could attach it to a belt loop or a cell phone loop or strap. Give it a try if you are looking for a small personal alarm.

Where do I start with this handy personal alarm device? I've been wanting to order one of these for quite a long time and finally did! It's tough to decide with so many of these on the market today. Here's what I like about this one... For starters, it's light-weight and compact. The keychain clasp has a spring lock that is super durable and can be attached to your keys, backpack, pocket book, belt loop on your jeans or sports bra for those early morning jogs. I love the fact that the pin pulls out to set off the alarm but doesn't separate from the unit. Meaning if you were in a parking lot of the grocery store late at night and you felt somebody was sneaking up on you, in a panic you can pull the pin to set off the alarm without the worry of the pin flying across the parking lot. With this product, in the event of a false alarm you can easily deactivate the alarm by pushing the pin back in place. Most importantly, this alarm is LOUD and PIERCING just as described, so in the event you pull that pin, you WILL be heard! The bright flashing LED strobe light is a bonus. Should you have to pull that pin in the dark to ward off an attacker, you will be seen as well as heard. Oh, let's not forget the price... It's on the lower spectrum when compared to many others I've seen advertised. This alarm is not only perfect for scaring off human predators, but would be most helpful if encountered by a coyote, wolf, raccoon, bear or other wildlife when walking your dogs after dark. I would love to see this product offered in black. All in all, my only disappointment is that I didn't order it sooner! This personal alarm would make a great gift for all ages!

I like this especially because it's a little smaller than other top-line personal alarms on the market. Easier to hang on your keychain without making it as bulky. The alarm sounds when you pull the pin, but it stays with the product, so you can reinsert it. Especially helpful if you accidentally pull it. I'm happy having gotten this for my college-age daughter so she feels safer going to and from the parking lot on campus and at the gym.
