Obviously this is trying to clone an SM** and does a very good job at it. Looks are almost identical, weight is solid, all metal and heavy like the SM. Best of all, it sounds like one too. I need a mic to send out as a loaner without worries. This does the trick.

sound quality from this mic is every bit as good as shure sm48 at a fraction of the cost. I do recommend using a quality cable with it though, as it definitely has most impact on performance!

I really like this mic. I find it comparable to the one it is designed to match, and at a much better price. The sound is the same great quality. I love the on/off switch because my older model didn't have one. The only thing I find different with this less expensive model (vs. the name brand model) is the amount of humidity I feel around my face while I'm singing into it. I have never noticed the moisture coming from my breath as much as when I'm using this mic. The miss area gets steamy and I'm not sure how else to explain it. One downfall to the box of equipment sent to me is that the mic holder included is completely useless. I included pics to show how small it is. It is too small for the mic itself and only large enough to fit around the mic cable. It's not supporting the mic at all. If you tilt the mic too far down, it will fall right out of the holder. Unfortunately, I don't have another suitable clip on the top of my mic stand, so I'll have to order an additional mic holder just for this one mic. It makes the low price point not quite as low as I thought it was. Kind of a bummer. Overall, I like the mic and would recommend it. ... show more

This mic totally surpassed comparisons to its mic that it’s modeled after. I put it side by side (inputs) with XLR and then 1/4” inputs.sound was good no noise . And nobody in studio even questioned what it was assuming it was a real shure sm 58!
