Description

Virginia Beach's Turnover has never been a band afraid of telling the truth. The emotional honesty poured out over a number of anthemic releases has been a proven formula of success for the band, but on their sophomore LP Peripheral Vision, the band treads into deeper water. Working again with Magnolia producer Will Yip (Title Fight, Circa Survive), Turnover's latest record shows a band maturing to create their best effort: an ethereal, reverb-drenched soundscape blending elements of hazy dream pop and the delicate emo rock of yesteryear. Songs like "Hello Euphoria" and "Like Slow Disappearing" highlight the new calmer, more subdued approach to songwriting, matched by Austin Getz's somber, confessional lyrics that echo throughout songs as if his words were haunting every measure. Peripheral Vision solidifies the idea that Turnover is a band with it's finger on the pulse of it's generation: growing and learning with every release, but never failing to provide a relatable, cathartic experience for anyone listening.

Awesome album they sound the same live as they do recorded, so that’s how you know they’re good!

  • A Perfect Album
Rarely do can you find a music album where you love each song upon first listen. This is one of those rare gems. Musically its an album of nostalgia personified and you'll find yourself drifting into your thoughts as the music takes you for a ride. Don't pass this up! Vinyl or CD or digital.. its worth every penny. ... show more

  • My absolute favorite album of 2015
It didn't take long for me to fall in love with this album. About 20 seconds into "Cutting My Fingers Off" i knew I would like this album. About 1 minute and 45 seconds into the same song, I FELL IN LOVE. This album captured a very melancholy nostalgia for someone who lived and died by the Get Up Kids, Mineral, Pop Unknown, and any other number of much more obscure indie/emo bands from the late 90's and early aughts. I imagine fans of current bands like Modern Baseball, Into It Over It, Pentimento, etc. you'd love this, though I personally think this album is better than anything those other bands put out! If you want a perfect fall album, this is it. It's a great album year round, but it really finds it home when the days are a little shorter, the sun sets a little oranger, and the leaves a little deader. If I could only keep one album from 2015, this would be it. ... show more

  • Love it
Awesome album and great vinyl. I don't know if it's consistently this way, but I got a magenta colored vinyl as opposed to a black one. I was very happy to get a colored vinyl at the price of a regular one. Great purchase.

  • Surprise Colored Vinyl
I had no idea the vinyl was a colored hot pink vinyl but I was pleasantly surprised. It is one of my favorite vinyls now!

  • Easily one of my favorites
This album truly sounds it’s best on vinyl. The little crackles give it so much more depth.
