We purchased this pump to move some oil. We used it for 100 gallons and used it carefully because it didn't seem to be very durable. After pumping 100 gallons, the internal pumping mechanism failed and left it unusable. I don't recommend spending the money on this product at all. What can I say, it just works. The manual doesn't match the product exactly (shows assembly steps that aren't required, misses a few steps that are) but if you're buying one of these and actually NEED the instructions, you probably shouldn't be buying one of these in the first place. It all goes together, its self priming (thank you) and make sure you tighten all of the nuts and screws to a good level, don't assume they are done from the factory (they aren't). Bought this pump to transfer waste fluids from my oil drain bucket back to the empty jugs for recycling. The assembly and hardware could be better, could be easier to assemble and setup. Once assembled and setup for the bucket, it works well enough, and fits exactly on the standard plastic 5-gallon buckets you see everywhere. Wish it would pump more volume per stroke, takes quite a bit of pumping just to refill a quart bottle. One thing I have seen mentioned in other reviews was that the pump leaks around the top, and mine did too until I investigated it a little. What I found was that the nut at the top of the pump housing where the piston rod fit down through, is only barely finger tight as it come out of the box. Under that nut is a compression seal, so if you tighten that nut down some, it will compress the seal against the rod and stop the fluid from leaking out. You do have to be careful not to tighten it too much or it will clamp the seal down so tight that the rod will not slide through and then of course it won't operate. If you look at the pic I included there is a red arrow pointing to the nut in question. ... show more

finally a reasonably priced oil pump that doesn't break after 2 gallons. i have fed at least three 5 gallon pails of gear oil through this pump and it works great. price is right. about 16 pumps to a quart- easy for filling diffs or trans axles.

Size: DEF Rotary Barrel Pump
DEF is a mythical fluid that kills all pumps it touches, ( my experience ). I operate a fleet of commercial vehicles and we use a lot of DEF, and DEF pumps. Compared to the plunger style we were using before trying this one, it worked great. Plenty of volume easy to operate and affordable. The suction tube uses a thread I could not match so when the pump broke off the suction tube, no more pump. I would need to contact the manufacturer to acquire a new suction tube when most other units run a standard pipe thread that I can get anywhere. Lasted about 4 months. ... show more

They showed shipped, two days later no tracking, then they message you it takes two days to process even they they said it shipped. Pump made grinding and clacking noise. Nice little pump to pump water out of a 55 gal drum.....for about 2 weeks!!!! no suction now, plastic parts wore out after 2 weeks....find a better one.

You'll need hose clamps to keep the hose ends on. They blow off under the pressure of pumping. There's no place to pt the end of the hose between uses so oil leaks everywhere on the floor.
