Works better than a regular piece of chain because its got brackets for bolting to an engine, transmission, or whatever and you can easily adjust it for tilt with the piece that hooks to your cherry picker/ hoist.

Had the hoist, needed the chain. This one is a good length, plenty hefty and strong. It has the link centering slot in case you need to bias the chain to one side or the other. The end brackets have that little flare to them that stops the chain from crushing up against your valve covers. I used it to lift a 4.2 straight 6 out of my Jeep and it pulled it out perfectly. ... show more

Jus what the dr ordered great fit and price should last a life time used it the day after I got it , very strong quality and better than just a chain this has grab tab that’s slides or jumps as needed link to link to adjust tilt very nice build use on 4 cyl or v8 can’t beat the price works great

    • Works great, kind of short though
I used this to lift a 97 LT1 engine. I used it from head to head, corner to corner. It worked pretty good, cleared the outside lip on the valve covers (center bolt) because of the bends in the brackets, and I was surprised by how balanced it lifted. However, it's shorter than I would have liked. It barely clears the LT1 intake, but there's no way it'd clear anything taller than that (like a carb). Was shocked it worked as well as it did. Had to move a couple 6.0 LS engines and this worked out well. Mounted them to the back and front of the heads. Had the intake off and it had plenty of chain. Did kinda put pressure on the fuel rail on the hole I used but that could be solved by moving it. I did try to see if the chain was long enough to use with intake on and it was just long enough but honestly would be a lot easier to take it off first. The anchor points are flared out like regular engine lift shackles and this is a bonus. I know there is a review on here where the shackle point broke. I mean that would suck on a new long block. But the two I swung in were good. It says on chain not to work under engine while lifted, that's just common sense. All in all it's a great deal for the price, feels a little cheap in quality but did not feel any give while using. I would advise that this only be used on gas engines and not with the transmission attached. ... show more
