I’ve been trying take good care of gardenias for several summers now with little luck until this heat. Last year I trialed this fertilizer with no luck as my plant slowly died one yellow leaf at a time despite my effort. What I didn’t know was that this is a fertilizer to increase blooms which it does amazingly but you also have to make sure your soil is acidic enough first. I’ve tried many types of acid loving products but what finally worked for me was pickle juice. 1 cup per gallon of water. You can test your soil acidity but what works for me is -as soon as I see a yellow leaf, I give it some pickle juice. This plant usually does well with 1/2 gallon water/ 1/2 cup pick juice at a time.
