    • I loved it so much that I bought it again.
This is my second Pescador 12. I bought my first one 12 or 13 years ago and it just suffered a catastrophic keel failure. Rather than repair it, I chose to buy another one because I kayak in remote areas and in the ocean. I like the new molded handles, the front hatch cover is an improvement, and the reinforced keel is a great idea. I also have 2 Wilderness Systems Tarpon kayaks, that are much more expensive, but this Pescador is a much better balanced kayak. I'm not a fan of the placement of the paddle keeper. I don't care for it being on the left side of the boat, and it's a little inconvenient being behind the seat, but I can always add one on the other side that's next to the seat instead of behind it. Overall, this is a great boat, and will easily handle lakes, rivers, and even the ocean. I'm happy that Perception is still making these. ... show more

Kayak was delivered with a deep scratch on the side. Right side footrest doesn’t catch and the hull storage lid doesn’t latch and close. Ridiculous that this left the facility for sale.

I haven’t had this in the water yet because the weather turned before it arrived. I purchased this “used as new” from Amazon and it arrived in the packaging I would expect a new one to come in, there are no areas on it I can see that have any damage or blemishes so I’m glad I took the chance and saved over $80 on it. I plan on mostly using it to fish the Bitterroot river and am anxious to see if I will be able to paddle upstream in it once the flow drops from spring highs. It is big enough to carry my fishing gear easily and looks big enough to be able to fish comfortably. ... show more

Once we finally got a kayak, it was fantastic. This was the 3rd order. The first two were damaged in shipping and subsequently cancelled by Amazon. Once I got the Kayak? Worked great. I am a larger paddler and I took it on a big river. It was secure, safe and very comfortable. Highly recommend.

I ordered this for my husband for his birthday. I was so excited to get him this new kayak that he really wanted. I ordered it in June (his birthday is in July) and did not receive it until October! Well then when the long, long-awaited birthday present arrived, the hinged cover on the access hatch was broken. Hinges were broken right in two. So, very reluctantly, we returned it for a replacement. When the replacement came, it had a large crack in the hull. You could see daylight through it if you looked at it from inside the kayak. My husband said if he had not noticed it and took the kayak out on the water it probably would have started leaking and sank. So, we returned this one too and I'm just getting my money back. I am just crushed that my wonderful birthday present turned out to be a flimsy piece of junk. ... show more
