We love this kayak for its thoughtful construction, light weight and stability (stability based on other's reviews, we haven't gotten it out on the water yet). The first kayak we ordered was received with some pretty hefty damage I can only imagine happened in shipping. The return process was a bit of a pain, but the new one arrived in good condition (the rear foam block was dislodged but I'm working on getting it back in place). I wish Amazon could have sent a new one without the third party return hassle, but I can understand with the awkward size and price why they can't. Overall we are very satisfied with this purchase.

i really wanted a touring kayak but didn't want to pay double to triple the cost. this kayak can do it all. has a drain plus, adjustable foot rest, super wide cockpit. but more importantly i can do storage behind the seat, and storage by the feet (so i plan to use it like a touring kayak). Unlike a touring kayak where storage by the feet is at max a 5 l drybag; in this kayak i am confident i could put a 20 l drybag cooler without any feet issue. what the kayak pics don't show is there is bungie straps at both the bow and stern that aren't shown (pics only show a single bungie by the cockpit organizer) so one less thing i need to do. weight wise it is the same as a single touring kayak or slightly lighter. i am a 5'1" female and can easily lift the kayak. only bad thing is no bulkhead to separate the cockpit from the bow or stern storage - perception does have a kayak that adds an aft bulkhead, but it adds 11 lbs to total kayak weight.

I’ve had a perception tandem kayak in the past that I really liked, so decided to buy these to ride around the canal. They are a lower model than I had before but perfect for a relaxing day on the water. These boats turn nicely and are very stable. They don’t have a dry storage at all, the boat opens up completely. That’s why I’am not giving 5 stars, it did advertise a dry storage. If you’re spending long days on the river I would get something different but for casually going out on lakes or canals this kayak is perfect. Also the color is great very bright mostly green, not blue; it stands out well in the water.

As a newly active kayak paddler, the Perception Flash is good choice for me. Lightweight and easy to transport for one person. I am a fairly large adult and I fit comfortably in the seat and the adjustable foot stops are easy to adjust. One of the best features is the under-deck area for storage and additional leg room for those of us with bad knees. Having the adjustable seat back was a plus and a great simple design. It is just long enough that I can turn quickly in shallow waters with no problem. I use it on calm, coastal waters in Florida and it is wide enough that it doesn’t feel tippy. It fits nicely in my truck bed for hauling and I think the molded in handles make more sense when carrying it. This is a great value for leisure boaters like me.

Like many others this year, I decided to jump on the kayak craze during the quarantine. Due to the shortage of kayaks available, I purchased the first one I could find. After receiving my Lifetime Emotion 10'3" kayak, I discovered that not all kayaks are the same. After launching, I quickly realized that I needed a larger open cockpit to accommodate my size and my dog. The Perception Flash 9.5 is perfect for my needs. It is lightweight, easy to maneuver, easy to get in and out of, and has plenty of room for my gear. The dash has a built-in water bottle holder and space for my phone, etc. Best of all, it is corgi approved!

I would Not have thought to buy a kayak on Amazon, but I am whole heartedly glad that I did. This was a present for my Dad. Many retailers were sold out of similar kayaks. Not only did Amazon work hard to get this in stock, but it was a great price AND it was delivered FOR FREE (I am a Prime member) to my Dad’s door step. Isually biying a kayak, delivery is very expensive, or a hassle for the buyer. My Dad was surprised, deighted and thrilled. We are going out this weekend!!! The Perceptions are superior quality. We checked the boat for delivery/processing damage. There was none. Perfect condition. Thank You Amazon!!!

The media could not be loaded. I’m thrilled with this kayak! Easy to haul and maneuver, adjustable foot rests make a huge difference when paddling. The seat back does slip out of place often. I love the compartment dash for keeping items easily within reach like binos, fishing tackle, etc. Tracks smoothly, great deal for the price.
