Easy to assemble. Sturdy and good quality. I would suggest attaching it to the wall. I used some string rope and tied them to door hinges so I didn't have to make a hole in the wall and that worked. This was a very easy to assemble cat tree. No bad smells detected, like the other reviews said. The moment I started putting it together, my cat immediately started taking possession of it, barely allowing me to keep building it. The only problems I noticed are: the fabric will get torn at the pillars, because my cat thinks she can scratch her paws on any pillar-looking surface (but I may just get some hemp twine and wrap it around it all. The second thing is that the basket base is very thin, compared to the platform that goes on the opposite side, making the top of the cat tree look a little bit out of whack. -but it is nothing a good spacer cannot fix. It is very sturdy. I believe the other reviewers who complained about it being flimsy did not tighten the bolts enough. I will try to post some photos soon :) Just remember that if your cat is too big, it won't work.

So disappointed. My 15 lb cat is too big to go into the house or fit in hammock or lie on top. She ignores all.of it even when I put treats in house and on surfaces. It's perfect for kittens or 10 to 11 lb cats. I'll either give it away or sell it. So disappointed. I started a disciplined eating program to have Molly lose a few lbs. She should be no more than 11 lbs. Not doing this for her to fit the tree but to save her from diabetes or worse. I'll keep it a while longer to see if she will warm up to it but I doubt it. Cat house is really small. I gave it stars as I believe it is well made, sturdy and plush enough. BU not for big cats. I think I should stop calling her Fatso or rolly-polly. Maybe I'm hurting her feelings! HEY, I'M THE FATSO!

I tried to place my cat in the hammock, but the structures base is WAY TOO SMALL to support him laying in there!! I have to counter balance the base by laying a heavy jug full of coins on it to keep it from tipping over!! Very poor design! CANNOT RECOMMEND!

The material covering everything is a cheap plush (think cheap plushy dollar store blankets), and the tree is tiny. It is very top heavy and anything other than a small cat/kitten will result in it toppling over just sitting on top. The base is small and should have been bigger for better support. I had to modify ours with another tree base as our tree is not up against a wall or anchored to a wall for support. We have two cats, and one is not small. Again, the tree is small, covered in a cheap plush, and top heavy and must be up against wall/strapped to a wall for support.
