These oil pastels are most definitely worth the money, I paid $8 for them and am so happy with them. The only other oil pastels I've used before are the Kingart brand, and I like these much more than those. They do smell quite strongly of oil, so use them in a well-ventilated area. They don't blend perfectly, but layering them is a good method. If you do want to blend them, instead of using your finger, I use one of those blending stumps you use for pencil or charcoal. They are really fun to use, although they are quite crumbly, so I recommend using some kind of soft, cheap brush to keep your work clear of crumbles. These oil pastels are really beautiful. They are easy to use and are not messy. The price for them is also very good...not expensive. A little goes a long way so I'm sure they will last for a long time.
