Ive used this for the past two years i believe and it has done its job. I have cat that always wants to sit in my lap so this helps when i do work.     • Needs assistance with larger tablets
This is a versatile, well made stand for cellphones or tablets, but may need some assistance for larger tablets. For stability it is recommended that a weighted object be placed on the base of the stand to make it more difficult to tip over. The bracket that holds your device is not very deep, so while it works fine with cellphone in a medium case, you may need to remove your tablet from its case before placing it in the bracket to insure a solid hold in all positions. I have a Galaxy Tab S8+ (12.4"). The S-pen clips to a slot in the back of my case which adds to the overall thickness, and the bracket can't get a secure grip. Removed from the case, it holds my tablet quite securely. The other issue with my larger tablet is the weight. The springs that provide tension on the support arms appear to be at their limit with the larger tablet, which may cause the upper arm to droop. I replaced the springs on the upper arm with a pair of 7/16" x 3½" x .047 extension springs (Handyman SP-9667 ordered through Amazon). They only took a couple of seconds to swap out, and the slightly beefier replacement springs work perfectly. ... show more

This stand is all you could want at your bedside. Just put it under the mattress against a flat area or two. It will be perfect for moving your device around. Wayyyy better than the bending stands. I promise you that this is the dream you were waiting for. Just make sure it stays tightly screwed in before every use. I will never go back to the flexible phone stands. They suck. This stand wont suck for eons ... show more

    • Not suitable for Surface Pro
I purchased this for use with my Surface Pro 7. While the cradle stretches far enough to hold the Surface, the final piece of the extendable arm is not strong enough to hold it up. I tightened the ring on the back of the cradle as tight as possible, but it still droops. The hinge just prior to the cradle's ball joint is also not strong enough to support the device and there is no way to tighten it. This piece has another flaw in its design, as the mounting screw interferes with the core as it rotates, causing wear on the core and the metal threads of the screw to shear off. I do not suggest this for larger tablets. Thankfully, I had another extendable arm from a similar proct that works with the base and is strong enough to support my device. Also, the base is not quite heavy enough to balance heavier tablets when the arm is extended outwards, though they do mention this on the product page (and suggest adding weight on it) and it makes the stand more portable. ... show more

    • Doesn’t hold an iPad Pro if it’s in the case BUT
It’d be ok for me, but I got it for my 94 y/o mother who’s spry but has painful finger/hand joints. It’s hard for her to get out of the case to put it in the stand. But once set up, it’s perfect. My dad has dementia but he likes video calls. They needed a good, non-fatiguing platform so their grandkids et al don’t get motion sickness. So. It works well.     • Sags with 12.9 inch iPad - Correctable Problem
This arm is obviously not designed with supporting the weight of a 12.9 inch iPad in mind. The manufacturer simply included a device clamp large enough to hold the larger iPad, but failed to include extension springs with a higher load rating to prevent the arm from sagging once the device is attached. The tension adjustment knobs can only do so much, even tightening it to almost the point of breaking, the arm still droops when the device is interacted with. To fix this, the manufacturer need to include a set of 4 springs with higher load rating, which it currently does not have. Edit: Revising my review from 2 star to 4 star as the aforementioned issue is easily correctable. I went to Home Depot and found a "7/16 in. x 1-1/2 in. Extension Spring" and replaced one of the four springs with this high-load spring. The problem is instantly corrected and the 12.9 iPad is now perfectly balanced in the mount and this mount became one of the best I've used out there. Still, an extra set of springs should be included by the manufacturer and the quality of the actual device clamp should be improved, especially with adding a hole in the back to easily lift it open with your finger. ... show more
